TileSlim (2016) - 2 Pack - Discontinued by Manufacturer

I really regret this purchase. Heard the ad while listening to Marketplace and figured I'd try it out.1) The description says it's as thin as two credit cards. This is a lie. It's three credit cards thick. I'm sure that sounds like a paltry difference, but as someone with an Infinity wallet (and rather OCD about wallet size), that remains a constant disappointment.2) The Tile can locate your phone, and your phone can locate your Tile. That's pretty neat... except that for your phone to locate your Tile, you're stuck playing a game of Marco Polo. Tile relies on Bluetooth which gives it a very, very short range to work with. The Tile app will let you know if you're hot or cold. Lose your wallet in your house, you should be fine. Lose it elsewhere? Too bad. As far as Tile locating on your phone, you can double press the disc to have your phone play a short MIDI tune. This relies on your phone's volume being turned up high enough to hear it. Frankly, most phones these days have a far better locator system in place. You'll never use this.3) Tile can't even do it's one job right. Note the screenshot. My Tile app sent me an alert that my wallet was over 100 ft. away despite my wallet being inches away from my phone. Really, Tile? This doesn't do much to improve my trust of this unit to locate my wallet when I really need it.4) Tile embraces the Apple model of not allowing the consumer to change its battery. I'm already not looking forward to spending more money every time this thing dies, and I'm even less enthusiastic considering how big of a drain Bluetooth generally is for devices. UPDATE: My Tile Slim officially is dead as of Oct. 18, 2017, just under three months since activation.Unfortunately, my mail carrier recently damaged a large shipment of items I received from Amazon, and I live in constant fear of Amazon suspending my account due to whatever it deems excessive returns. Were it not for that, I would send this back in a jiffy. Really, don't be a sucker like me. I thought getting two of these for the same price as one was a good deal. It's not. Don't trust your valuables to such an unreliable product. It will think you've lost stuff that's not lost and find stuff only when you're standing on it.

First, I bought this on Prime Day and got a great deal on the price. That's a contributing factor to why I am giving this 5 stars.The main factor, however, is that these things are INCREDIBLY useful if you are constantly misplacing things. At least once a week I will misplace my wallet--I'll know the general area where I last saw it, but for the life of me I can never seem to find out EXACTLY where it is...until I bought these Tiles. Now I just "ping" the Tile in my wallet with the app on my phone and the wallet makes a loud ringing noise that allows me to instantly find it. This is especially useful for when I am short on time and need to leave my home quickly (which is often).Also, when you install the Tile app on your phone it also makes your phone a Tile--meaning that you can "ping" your phone in the same way I described above using a laptop. I don't typically lose my phone but it's good to know that feature is there if/when I need it.Overall, this is a great product if you lose things all the time. If you can get it on sale like I did, even better, but given how much I've used my Tiles in the short time I've had them I'd say they're even worth the buy at full price.

I do like the concept of the tiles however I was little upset because I thought I was ordering the smaller ones that go on the keychain. When you order from a mobile device its hard to see the size difference and since it says phone finder and I've never ordered them before I didn't realize these were so much bigger. Overall I am happy with the product. I do like the fact that I can hit the button on the tiles and it will make my phone ring.

Works as advertised (though my subjective sense is that it's a little quieter than the original Tile). And they're not kidding about the thickness: it truly is only about as thick as a pair of credit cards.I wish, though, that they'd abandoned the square form factor and made the device rectangular, like an actual credit card. It's the same height as a credit card but only about 2/3 as wide as one, meaning that it doesn't play nicely with minimalist, cardholder-style wallets, and even in a billfold it's going to create a weird square bulge rather than just disappearing among your other cards.

Got this as a gift for my parents and they were able to set it up easily and keep track of frequently lost items with no problem. It's a little bulky, still, which prevented me from giving 5 stars, but overall I'd recommend this item.

Update: I've had the Slim, Mate and Pro. Of the three this was the most problematic. Consistently disconnected and ran out of battery with absolutely no notification. Frustrated because I was so pleased at first I talked it up with my husband and got him one, too...only to have it fail on both of us. Get the Pro.It may be bulkier, but it's actually reliable. Original Review: I have the tile mate and thought this would be great for my wallet. Have only had to use it once, but the security it provides from stress is worth it.

These little things are great! As the mom of a teenage boy, his wallet was regularly getting misplaced. This has alleviated that issue. Put the app on his phone, and he can easily locate it. I like that if he has his wallet, but not his phone, he can press the tile and it will make his phone ring even if it’s on vibrate. Similar to Find my IPhone.

I love this product. I keep one on my car keys and one in my wallet. If you press the button on the tracker you can also find your phone which is so useful. They are a little pricy but they make my life so much easier and less stressful. I would recommend these to anyone that doesn't like losing their phone, keys or wallet

I thought these were the keychain Tiles, however they are just the slim tile for phones, wallets, computers, etc. I also did not realise there was a subscription to access all the functions.Please read the complete description before purchasing.
