Time-Consuming but Engaging Setup for an Awesome Final Product
I usually don't write Amazon reviews. That said, the uniqueness of the service that Briksmax offers warranted it for me. I bought this product a few months back and had heard about how much time the set-up takes. That said, I only just installed it three days ago. Overall I'm very pleased with this set mod and bought another product from Briksmax today. Here's a list of my over all pros and cons. Pros: - looks absolutely awesome and takes the Lego set to a whole other level, which was what I was hoping for given the $40 price tag - the lights/wiring are high quality from what I can tell. Bending and squeezing parts between the Lego bricks had no negative effects - for me at least, the setup process was engaging and (mostly) enjoyable Cons: - for a quality product the follow along images in the instruction manual were not the highest quality, and making out visual instructions was difficult at certain times - it won't be a quick setup process. It took me five ish hours to do. I did it in one go and to be frank I was getting a bit antsy at the end - unavoidable side effect: while the wires are VERY thin, they're still not paper thin, and in places where they are imbedded between bricks it creates small gaps, decreasing the structural integrity of the set

Simple Awesome and Fantastic Service
I got this kit, the Jurassic Park kit, and the Barracuda Bay kit. Definitely recommend starting small. The LEDs are small and the instructions are incredibly in depth, but there is still some room to think through things and adjust based on personal preference. The larger kits like Barracuda Bay are insane. Both Horizon and Jurassic park worked perfectly and turning them on for the first time was stunning. Barracuda Bay did not turn on after I finished. After tracing back every single LED and connection I found one bad LED that was shorting out the entire thing. Service responded quickly to every email I sent and replaced the LED no questions asked. Incredible service and simply incredible kits.

TALLNECK GET ALIVE
After I finished decorating Tallneck with this light kit I can’t imaging Tallneck without it. This light kit has really brought him to life. Generally, I hate blinking lights but running lights on his head looks gorgeous. Also, I’m happy that I choose exactly this light kit for my Lego Tallneck. Thank you BRIKSMAX. I impressed with quality of materials you used for this build. Honestly, many times I thought that I squashed this lamp or inserted connector wrong way but when I turned switch on, I was surprised that IT WORKS. Lamps have nice color and bright enough to see it in day light too. You can only improve this kit in two ways: add remote control and mark these teeny - tiny connectors with some dot or mark on both sides to show correct way to insert connector. From my opinion it’s better to use a video from YouTube to complete this build. You also can use setting on YouTube to slow this video to speed you need or stop it to see more details. I used regular USB port to power this light kit, USB extension cable and USB cable with ON OFF switch. You can find this switch on Amazon and attach it with double sided glue tape to wall or table. You can see it in my video.

Make it shine - and bright it is!
The kit comes with a detailed plan which explains step by step (180+ of those) how to get this set up. While performing these steps I even found a few mistakes which I have done when assmbling the model first. Amazing! But - this was not as easy as one might hope and it takes a lot of fiddling and finger control ability as well as good eye sight as the plugs and cables are extremely tiny. Also - the cables are really thin - but they are of course a bit thicker then nothingness. As such some pieces will not come as good together as they have been without it. A piece of advice: There are about 14 left over double sided sticky pads as left over in the end. They are potentially to be used to stick the cable excess to the model. This was not mentioned in the manual, but it will go a long way if done. Things which are great + Really bright, even in bright sunlight it is very well visible and in the night this is a floodlight... + Great manual which explains step by step on how to do it (180+ steps) + Really good packaging + Additional manual which explains the basics Things which could have been better: - The plugs are tiny, which is okay as they must be, BUT you can insert them both ways, correct and wrong and you have to make sure that it is correct as a mistake has to be corrected after you are done... Usually these plugs come with some "coding", would have been really nice to have that. If you are careful you will do it right, but it definitely can go wrong if you do not take care. - The USB cable could have been really a bit longer... This way you should potentially buy a USB extension cable with it. - The set is pretty expensive (I have seen another sets which even included a remote in a similar price) - There is a bit of a cable mess in a few places where all the cables come together. I think this is expected, but it would have been good if they would have highlighted that the additional double sided glue pads were meant to be used there. It occured to me after I was finished. This should really have been highlighted better in the manual.

Instructions = F- Final Result = A+
I had a plan of taking my favorite Lego (Horizon Tallneck) and making it a night light for a few hours a night. The final effect is truly spectacular and draws the attention of everyone that is in its presence (even people that do not know what Horizon is). I can not stress enough how incredible the final product of this light kit is. That said... The instructions are TERRIBLE... The video of the instructions I found on YouTube are TERRIBLE... This was incredibly frustrating to put on my Lego kit. The instruction book ended up in the garbage and I ended up with a "Magnifying Glasses with Light headlamp kit" on while constantly rewinding the YouTube video to complete it. It reminded me of putting together one of those metal earth kits. Everything is fragile and small and you constantly question why you are doing this to yourself.

Finished product looks awesome! Instructions are pretty decent
The finished product looks awesome all lit up! It has been really cool showing it off to my friends that are familiar with the game. I've seen some reviews complain about the instructions. I think they were pretty decent. There were a few times that I had to pay super close attention to the positioning of some of the wires in the pictures, but overall it was easy. I think it took me about 3 hours to install the light kit on the already-built Lego set. That was with taking my time to be sure I did everything right the first time.

Pain in the installation, but worth the effort
After opening the box, I was kinda desperate right away, seeing the little parts, cables, etc. But I did this in spare time. With small sections first (the head), body, and so on. The picture instructions give this, not UH, but about medium-low difficulties. It would be easier if there are more texts in there explaining what and which. The how is pretty clear. There's instruction video too, Im planning to watch if I'm stuck, but thankfully the book was enough for me. After few hours spent, the result is priceless. I love it very much. I'm amazed how they made very detailed, especially the parts. There are even original Lego parts to replace few places to show off the lights, lol. My kids gonna jump seeing this 🤣 Tips: Put the USB to your PS4/PS5 port, and the Tallneck will glow too everytime you turn on the console.

Lights fail quickly, gen 2 connectors are NOT compatible with JST SUR 0.8mm !! REALLY DISAPPOINTING
EDIT: I am reducing my review from 2 stars to 1. I rarely ever turn on the light kit, and yesterday when I turned it on, the raindrop waterfall strip around the head is malfunctioning. Resetting does nothing, the controller on the strip is bad. That is seriously disappointing, as that was the biggest reason i wanted this light kit over all the others. It's REALLY disappointing! Original review: As much as I really don’t want to ding Bricksmax with a poor review, they have recently made a change to their kits that is really disappointing. I’ll start by saying this kit as a standalone kit is nice. The strip of moving lights around TallNeck’s head is a really cool touch that none of the other light kits have. The kit contains a bunch of lights and parts to bring some neat life to the model. If you only intend on using this one light kit by itself, it’s a good kit. If not for the below issues, I would give it a 5-star review. However there are other kits out there that also bring some pizaaz to the model. Animating the stop light for example, is a function this kit does not come with. So you might look at other kits like LocoLee or BrickBling and get that blinky module for the stop light. And then there’s the issue of BricksMax going off the rails. MOST of the kit makers use the standard JST SUR 0.8mm connectors. That makes it very easy to add additional pieces or expand your kits as you prefer to make them truly unique. There is an endless supply of bits & pieces all over Amazon and other online retailers. And BricksMax USED TO use those same connectors. But not anymore. They have moved to a proprietary connector and chalked it up to “easier connections”. But this breaks the universal compatibility, and you can no longer use the SUR connectors with their kits. So the distribution hubs don’t work with the SUR connections on cables, and the BricksMax cables don’t work in the SUR distribution hubs. This is a really disappointing change! For an avid builder who has many light kits and often customizes even further, be aware that these new BricksMax gen 2 connectors are not compatible! Ps - I really want the moving light strip piece so I cut off their proprietary connector and re-terminated the wire with the SUR connector. However if you are going to think in that direction with this or any other kit, the tools to do this are very expensive, you may just want to splice in a pigtail or look at some of the 3rd party sellers who are making adapter cables and boards. They’re also expensive for what they are, but if that’s what ya gotta do to get the look you want, well, it’s worth it.

I really recommend this to everyone! It makes my lego much more nice to look at! Looks perfect in my lego showcase! At first i was so scared the lights wont turn on at the end like what happen to other’s reviews. Im AMAZED!!! Easy to assemble and very good quality!! 5* Will buy again for future lego.

Pretty fiddly but well worth it! Comes with solid instructions and diagrams.
This totally transforms the model into an absolute centrepiece! The provided instructions are wonderfully precise with clear images and although installing it all is a bit fiddly it wasn't too hard and just took some time and patience. (Took me ablut 2hrs to fit it all). Pay attention to which way around to fit in the pins to the circuit boards and use tweezers if needed. Also make sure to use their replacement studs as they give more space than Lego studs for the wires to come out the side. There was some common sense needed and model building skills will definitely help here. Overall fantastic result though and I'm very pleased with it. It looks amazing, especially with the moving leds around the head.

Looks epic!
Great product, instructions are good. The adapting of the lights can be tricky but it's worth the frustration. Looks great when complete.

Awesome
This was added to the lego Tallneck which was a Christmas present for my teenage grandson. The addition of the lights was pretty spectacular! Really glad I added these lights to his gift.
