Skunk 2 657050030 Magnetic Oil Plug

MCD is nothing special in passenger jets' engine oil, generator oil & hydraulic systems, but it is slowly becoming a trend in the automotive industry among enthusiasts.I bought this kit for my 04 TL 6MT. The one with the longer probe is for engine oil and the shorter one is for 6MT (you cannot reverse it unless you do something crazy). I like the fact that the bolt head is the same 17mm as the OEM drain plug (for oil pan). I do not install safety/lock wire, as I never had the drain bolt getting loose on me.

The drain plug itself is legit quality. But the gaskets provided suck bigtime. I changed my oil with high quality oil. Used this new magnetic drain plug. Only to see it leak shortly after and continue leaking nonstop. Headache to drain the damn expensive quality oil all over again. If you buy this damn drain plug, make sure you buy legit oem drain plug gaskets and not use their shitty gaskets provided.

CAME IN UNOPENED BOX STILL SEALED FROM FACTORY, WITH STICKERS, GREAT BUY, ALLOWS CLOSER MONITORING OF INTERNAL WEAR AND COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. BIG ONE IN THE OIL PAN, SMALL ONE IN THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION DRAIN BOLT LOCATION.

Fit perfectly and I feel more comfortable to know that there won’t be small metal shavings in the oil because of the magnet.

Threads where kind rough. Nothing some scotch bright cant fix. Have yet to see if they will hold fluid in or not but will update if they leak.
