California Costumes Women's Size Deluxe Hooded Robe/Plus

Well, it should be, shouldn't it? But after reading numerous reviews that the sizes are extremely small (that even 3X does not fit women who usually wear XL!) I was a bit worried. Nevertheless, when the price got down to $10 I decided to take my chances and ordered the 3X.To my surprise, it was quite large on all sides:It was so wide that when I fastened the ribbon on my waste (about 38", I'm not slim) there wasn't much purple left to see! (see pictures).It was so long that it drugged on the floor even with heels (5'7", I'm not short)It was so open and wide in the cleavage that my bra was showing (my bra size is 36DDD, I'm not flat-chested).I have it tailored all around, and probably should have ordered the 2X or maybe even the 1X.The costume itself is very cool, you get exactly what you see in the picture (though the hood doesn't suit my head like the model).Bottom line – you may need to size up, but don't over do it.

I love the costume and it is well made....but I don't think it fits a person that is size 18-20. It is too tight in the top (hello I've got boobs!) My mother-in-law are having to take it out and sew in new fabric so it will fit for the Halloween party I will be attending. Also, we plus size girls don't always have thin arms, and the the arms are a bit tight as well. California Costumes should think about that...if it is for a plus size woman, they usually have meat on their bones. I have plenty of tops that are size 18-20 (maybe a lil smaller even) and they fit my chest and arms just fine. I would say this is more along the lines of an XL not a XXXL. I will fix it and make it work though! The length is great(especially since I am wearing 5 inch heels), and I love the big bell on the bottom of the sleeves, also the hood stays on my head (which makes me happy, because I don't want it falling down all night.) Overall it's a nice costume, just wish companies would realize there are women with big boobs and meat on their bones!

Amazing quality!! Great thick material! Beautifuly made. The costume comes exactly as pictured. The manufacturer has listen to the reviews about the sizing. They have corrected the problem. I read the reviews about ordering 2 size bigger. I did that ..and my costume was a tad big..maybe a inch or two. Not a big deal. I wear a 1X ......i order a 3X.... I should have gotren a 2X. I wear a 46DDD bar and I am curvy.I am 5'11. The dress goes all the way to the floor. If you are short, you will need heels or have it altered. I might buy another or get alterations done. I rather it be a little too big than too small and tight. Once I laces up every loop, it sinched me in, giving me the look that i wanted. The ribbon provided isn't long enough. I went to Michael's and purchased my ribbon. Also, Get some black hair bands to use to secure your rolled up sleeves so you can use the bathroom and wash your hands. The sleeves are extremely long. You need to get them out of your way so you won't mess up your beautiful dress. I recommend this costume.

Item arrived very quickly and is beautiful, but I normally wear an XL and the 3X wouldn't even go over my shoulders. My mother is a seamstress and looking at it she said it is most likely a size 12 or 14 not the size 20-22 that it says on the label. I'm very disappointed and am returning it.

It has a nice style to it and the color part and the black are very vivid. But frankly whoever sized these must be on crack. I wear a XL or L or a size 10 to 12 in pretty much all clothing lines. I was unable to get a XL or a 1XL in this costume so I had to get a 2XL and figured I'd have to alter it quite a bit. But to my surprise in trying it on the sleeves are uncomfortably tight and it's snug on me. Since when is a misses size 10 the same as a woman's 2XL? I bought a light sweater at Walmart once that was a 1XL and it was so huge on me i could have wrapped it around me twice. Really need to fix the sizing.

Is it Halloween yet??? I was very worried after reading the reviews on this that I was going to get the wrong size. I spent hours reading and deciding what the truest fit would be for me ... I am a 14/16 and a 40DD and 5'7". So after debating I went with the 2x. This gown fit me in all the right places with flow still to be had. A little long -however, when I added heels it was just right. Sleeves are a bit long but I can fix that to my liking. Hood is a little big which is nice so it still drapes when sat on crown of the head. Not sure if I will use the string to tighten center as I have access ribbon hanging down even after tied- however, I will play with it between now and my evening out. Made nicely however it will be a spot clean only material for me.

I was so conflicted when ordering this costume because of the reviews. I already bought a costume from a local Halloween store but I didn't love it. I went back and tried on a few others and just wasn't satisfied. I saw this online and loved it the moment I saw it, but was scared to order because all of the reviews I read said it was cut too small. Normally I would order a 1x (I am 5'4, over 200 lbs, and I wear a 38 DDD), I read one review that said the person is normally a size 12 but ordered the 2x based on reviews and was glad she did because it fit perfect! I am a prime member so I figured if I ordered it and it didn't fit it would be shipped quick enough that I would have time to send it back and order something else if I had to. So I ordered the 2x, and my hopes weren't high about it fitting. Well it was ordered on Friday and came on Sunday and it is PERFECT! Actually it could be a bit smaller but I am not complaining. I am not sure were the majority of reviewers are getting their measurements/weight from? I read several that said their breast wouldn't fit, mine are pretty big and I still have room. Also a lot of reviewers said the arms were to tight and my arms are pretty big and fit with room to spare. The only thing I would suggest is measuring your hips/waist/bust and going off of that. I had those measurements and based off of those and my weight it worked out well. I hope this will help those on the fence about buying this costume based off of the reviews. It is also made very well and I'm sure I will get many uses of it.

Nice but a bit small

So pleased with the quality of this robe! It’s a light polyester but sewn incredibly well except for one area: the loops on the front lacing.

Favorite colors and fit perfectly

Sizing is way off and too small, 3 of the eyelets were torn before item was even tried on, satin lace up is super short, iten is very poorly sewn.

Nicely made but no way was it made to the size I ordered arms were way small had to give to my daughter

Fits great! Better the expected, I'm 5'1 and it's long on me but im gonna wear high heels so it's great...

I look forward to using this for a Halloween party this year. When I tried it on it was comfortable and fit well. Plus my family said it looked good.

Really nice costume; however runs small! Be sure to size up if you have a broad back and large boobs!

Wow, this is super snug for the 3x size. I am smaller than a normal 3x in clothes, so it does run small (sleeves also tight in the upper arm).
