Perfect for our portable rack
While the full-wave "shark fin" antennas provide a much greater reception range, I'll probably never actually need to receive anything from 100 meters away, so I probably don't need to carry them around with mic stands to mount them on. These half-wave antennas do a great job receiving from well over 100 feet away, they're nice and compact, and they don't require a mic stand and extra cables to mount them. Any way I can save space and setup time is a bonus.
