These are so awesome
Very good quality, easy to use, cleans nicely. They are alittle sharper than expected but they are great. The case makes them so easy to store and so convenient. I’ll be buying these for gifts for my mom and sisters since I love them so much.

Fancy bamboo skewer replacement, not wide enough for general kabob use
3.5 stars really. If you come from using bamboo skewers and like to grill small, relatively sturdy items, you will probably love these. Skewers are thin and lightweight, are well proportioned and have a sharp tip. Metal is glossy with some imperfections, normal magnet hardly sticks. No rusting under salty conditions. Looks indeed like a high grade of stainless. They are about 35cm long, rectangular cross section at 5mm wide, 1.75mm thick, and weigh 24g a piece. (See pictures, a little longer, wider and thinner than a bamboo skewer.) Each skewer can hold three large baking potatoes if needed, so I don't think they will ever break without abuse. The metal storage tube looks like the product of child labor, but is functional and offers safe and compact storage. The skewers fit great on my trusty Lodge Sportsman grill, which was the whole reason for getting them.Overall the skewers are very serviceable. But if you like Persian or Brazilian skewers, which usually are two feet long, come in various widths and look more like swords (really a bit impractical with the Lodge Sportsman due to length), you may keep experiencing a nagging feeling of disappointment with these. The reviewed skewers are just not wide enough for general use. Larger soft meat (like chicken thighs, salmon, duck lover) rotates around the skewers and is hard to impossible to flip. I feel this could have been avoided by making the skewers a little wider (about 8-10mm instead of 5mm). One way around this is to double them up and use two. For this reason I ordered the Broil King 64045 dual prong which is the same length and weighs 74g a piece, but it is not as sharp and requires a fairly large minimum meat cube size. I am still hoping to find more substantial single short skewers (e.g. "Wider thicker", as was promised to me by the article description), but have not found them yet.Pictures from left to right:1) This skewer (twisted) next to a little bamboo skewer next to Broil King.2) Could flip the onions and duck hearts in this picture, but not the livers.3) After adding second skewer through the livers it was possible to flip them.4) The salmon was also less than ideal.

Perfect for hanging jerky in a PBC smoker
Perfect length and strength for hanging jerky across the rebars in my PBC smoker. The sharpened tips make skewering meat a breeze. Cleanup is quick and easy with an SOS pad. If I were to use these for grilling kebabs I might consider doubling up when skewering grillables, to prevent them from free spinning when rotating. Fortunately 24 skewers ought to be sufficient to allow doubling; for reference the standard PBC smoker can accommodate ~14 skewers when spaced appropriately.

Make grilling easy, just a bit tough to clean
I've been using these primarily for grilling shrimp and veggies and I've really liked them. The twisted section makes it tough for food to slip down too far and they hold up well to flare ups from grease. They also cool down relatively quickly after being removed from the grill so they can be handled a few minutes after they come inside. The only issue that I have is that some of the char will not come off of them even if I use steel wool or put them in the dishwasher. They're still usable and it doesn't flake off, but it's something I'll be keeping an eye on in the future.

Best skewers I've used
These are great. I'm into making kabobs, I cook them over my charcoal starter chimney for highest temperature (I don't have a tandoor yet). These are sturdy, all stainless-steel, and amazingly — the twist is all it takes to keep the ‘handle’ cool. Yes, this really works. I love these. The included stainless-steel carrying tube is great for camping.
