Can you explain the image on the box?
The game board in the video is at least 12" square but the dimensions here state 8.75" square, which is it?
I have seen large and small versions of this game and am looking for the larger one. How big is this game being sold here?
What kind of weight do the pieces have? Do they feel too light/flimsy?

From Instagram to my Household!
A great 'Tetris' or 'Blockus' style board game. Well built with solid pieces.

Ageless
My husband introduced me to this game while we were dating 26 years ago. After having eight children, the pieces to our original game disappeared long ago. While browsing on Amazon I happened to find Cathedral again and popped it into my cart (much less expensive today than years ago too!).My older children remembered playing this through the years and were excited to have a complete set again. The younger ones are already hooked on on the game.Someone reviewed this game and said a cheaper version can be found in blokus, but I disagree as we have both games. Cathedral is smaller, 3 dimensional and takes more foresight to place the pieces (there are fewer pieces so you much choose each one wisely and not try and "make up" a bad placement later).Cathedral is also wood, which just plain feels better when you're playing with it compared to brightly colored, thin plastic tiles. I personally like the 3-D feel and look as I'm gazing down at the game - it gives a different perspective and it feels like your brain is very active while playing.Someone else mentioned it doesn't have the endless movements like chess does. I guess you could say that, but this game is not chess! You can't compare the two realistically as they are obviously very different. One game of chess can go on for long periods of time. Cathedral usually takes 30 minutes to complete which is ideal for most people and you don't feel bogged down in a game that never seems to end. For children or teenagers (who have a shorter attention span compared to adults) they enjoy this game because it can move quickly and they are often able to play several games in the time it would take to play one good game of chess. What I like most about Cathedral is that you must plan ahead, you must try and fit the pieces you have in your possession into specific space requirements which allows for critical, logical and abstract thinking all at once.

Great
This item is as big as a scrabble board its very substantial. I was expecting a smaller version but this truly is a heirloom game for the family lots of fun difficulty like chess and definitely a keeper.

Unique and different
We love strategy games. We had seen Cathedral for a long time but had never invested in it.Turns out it was a great buy. Took a few games to get into it, and we had to watch a video first (the translation of the rules is the most horrid German to English translation I’ve ever seen…I haven’t taken a formal class in German in 25 years, and I could cold turkey so a better job translating), but the game is great. My son wins almost every time lol.

Well made
The board and pieces are nice but it would be better if the grid was ridged to keep played pieces from sliding around. A fun and simple game that’s easy to learn, family friendly, but not boring for parents.

Must get!
Excellent game made extremely well!

Impressive
This is an entertaining game. The stained solid wood pieces look nice enough to leave out on your coffee table. The game itself is easy to learn and goes quickly.

The customer service exceeded my expectations. Perfect for buying products you can't find elsewhere.
This classic version of the popular Cathedral game. Is played within the borders of a medieval walled city, two rivals battle to gain the most land space by strategically repositioning their building pieces back on the board. The player who is best at blocking and out-maneuvering their rival will claim victory. Leftover buildings lower your score.

The outer edges of the board are \"town walls\" and each piece is given a name based on the shape and size. The idea of the game is to strategically occupy more of the \"town\" with your buildings than your opponent's. The box cover art is following the medieval theme: A suit of armor, helmet with chainmail, a walled city and what I am guessing is \"gothic\" design. Other than that, it has no significance. I have had this game for over a decade and my box cover was solid brown with gold lettering... One of our favorite \"go to\" games to play on a rainy day."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"The game board in the video is at least 12\" square but the dimensions here state 8.75\" square, which is it?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"It’s a wonderful board game- probably closer to the 9”."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"I have seen large and small versions of this game and am looking for the larger one.
