Has been perfect
Was a great router. Had zero problems. Installed Merlin third party firmware update so It could do adblocking etc... tweaked and tweaked this, in the end i've only moved on for wifi7 and a couple of 10g ports. If these don't matter to you this is a great set it and forget it router (far superior to most ISP offerings) and as its getting older and cheaper is fantastice value for money. The range is good and have had no dropouts.

First impressions very good
Bought this router when making the switch from Virgin to City Fibre, has been really easy to setup and configure to my households requirements. Having the 2.5G port is great and I plan to purchase a switch to extend that port in the future.

Single router covers whole large home better than mesh system
Wow, this thing is amazing. I replaced a triple pack of Deco BE65 WIFI 7 mesh nodes/router with this single router and it works soooo much better. Better range, better reliability and it gives you actual control over stuff via the web UI or app, way more than the consumer oriented Deco stuff. This covers my whole detached 4 bedroom house and even reaches into the garage where it has to penetrate 2 breeze block walls and a thick book case full of books. It is ugly as sin, but I'll take that when it works this well. Super impressed and a 3rd of the cost of a bunch of useless WIFI 7 nodes. 6Ghz is pointless, even when you have devices that support it as the range is so poor and the speed no better than 5Ghz.

this is the best device iv had for wifi
I got this to control multibe networks for my iot devices, kids network and primary network. To start the setup is easy and your up and running within 10 minutes usually but this is depending on the settings your ISP use.For what i needed it was great value for money and it is fast and handles crowded network signals really well in that there has not been a noticable performance hit over wifi. The device is regually recieves firmware updates and is still very much supported by Asus, the network segregation adds little to the security of the network but it does allow you to manage these seperate networks differently. It works well with older Asus mesh products but i did find the additional network ID's i had put in place did not play well with the older devices on older firmware. The feature i was interested in was the guest network pro which gave me the ability to control my kids network availability time but it also had limited support over older AI mesh devices. This is a top product for the price and the wifi speeds are as advertised for us but this will vary per household.

Beware - Warranty - Grey Goods
I tried to register this expensive router with the manufacturer, Asus. However, they have responded with an email."Regarding your request, we have noticed that the serial number of your device was created for the local market of Spain only (because it was specifically created for said country) and was sold without a commercial warranty. This is commonly referred to in the industry as Grey GoodsThis is when a commodity is traded through the distribution channel(s), which are unofficial but legally known as the grey goods. They are goods that are traded in a specific area, where the manufacturer does not intend to sell the product or intends to sell the product, but with different specifications or warranties.Grey goods are sold without the knowledge of the original manufacturer. When it comes to such Grey goods, a consumer might save money by buying the product through the grey market, but might even bear heavy losses if something happens to the product. This is because the manufacture may provide without a warranty, or a country specific warranty, or have some other warranty restrictions/limitations applied to the product. We therefore recommend that you contact your place of purchase to discuss the matter further."Beware!!! Contact Asus with the serial number of your router.Update: Contacted Amazon and will they not confirm in writing if this item is not Grey Goods.I contacted ASUS again, sending a photo of the serial and questioning how it could be grey goods if its box had English language written on it instead of Spanish. They replied:"The reason why the writing is in English is due to international standard. This can be noticed with other device that have been created/shipped for other countries or regions as well. In any case, regarding the serial number we once again confirm that this device was created for the local market of Spain and was sold without a commercial warranty"Once again, we must be aware and register our electronic devices with manufacturers.

Big router signal could be better
This asus rog router is rather bulky compared to most routers however it has alot if antennas and gives a decent signal which i expected to be better with all the antennas on it.the interface is good better on the browser than the android app,i have a mesh node wired to it to boost wifi further.i would recommend although i think its quite overpriced.
