but this would definitely be a great book for an adult beginner to environmental sciences
Required reading for my Environmental Sociology course. Most of the content I already was familiar with, but this would definitely be a great book for an adult beginner to environmental sciences.

I have been using editions of this book for a number of years in my undergraduate environmental sociology course. Every once in a while I experiment with a new environmental sociology book or set of readings, but invariably I come back to Harper after one semester of experimentation. Simply put, through trial and error, I have found this presentation of the broad subject of the environmental social sciences to be by far the most succinct, accessible and understandable text in this area for undergraduate students across almost all majors.

As far as environmental management goes...
This text book was not easy reading, but handled the subject well. It was relatively understandable. A bit outdated as issues like global warming have progressed since its writing.

Great book at a terrible price
This is hands-down the best undergraduate level textbook for teaching environmental sociology and is accessible for non-sociology majors. The only drawback is the price. Since Pearson sold the book to Routledge, the price has massively increased without any change in the text itself.
