Mistral Men’s Luxury Bar Soap for Men, Classics Gift Set (4 x 8.8 oz)

Great long last bar soap with a nice Mahogany Rum fragrance. Lathers up rich and is a good moisturizing soap. I've heard concerns about the scent not last long with all name brand bar soaps. What must be realized is that this is not perfume like the bottle. It does, however mimic that. Not all brands do it that well but this brand does it pretty good. If you could get a high quality fragrance in a soap bar to last longer it would cost significantly more. Soap is mainly meant to clean and relax. Used to it was just to get clean. Anyway this is a great soap. It checks off all the boxes except price--it is a bit pricey in my opinion. It is a luxury soap that last a long time and you get many uses in shower. I like these nice smelling soaps for relaxation--it's therapy for me. Plus it's good to the skin. I'd like to try several more of the scents. This was the second bar I've purchased. It does seem like it's made better than some of the other triple milled soap bars.

This soap is remarkable. The scent it leaves behind has made my wife sniff me multiple times per day and it lasts all day. She has commented more than once that I smell great at the end of the day. The soap cleans well and doesn't dry my skin out like the body wash I had been using. It lathers up well and has lasted better than some other soaps I had tried previously. Also, even though it's a dark color, it doesn't leave dark stains in the shower like some others I had tried. At $15/bar it's on the expensive side, but is worth it.

This is great soap. It makes your skin soft and it smells great. It is a big bar that lasts a good long time. My only gripe would be that the scent wears away within a few hours of showering.

Pros: - This is a LARGE bar of soap, about the size of two standard bars combined. It is 8.8 ounces. So you can view this as two 4.4 ounce bars of soap. I like this. Some people won't. - This soap has a complex, masculine smell that is very pleasing. Yes, that's a subjective take on the scent, but ALL opinions about the QUALITY of the smell are subjective. I like this. Some people won't. - This soap was intentionally made without ingredients that I consider unhealthy for human use: there is/are NO alcohol, parabens, or phthalates. - This soap did not dry out my skin like some other soaps do. I like the way it made me feel clean without drying me out. Cons: - This is expensive soap. 8.8 ounces of soap for $15. To put that in perspective, a standard bar of Ivory Soap weighs 4 ounces and cost about $1.50. So a comparable 8 ounce bar of Ivory would cost about $3.00. That makes this soap around 5 times the price of Ivory. - The great smell of this soap will not be found on your skin after you shower. The scent washes away when you rinse. Heck, the scent on the bar itself was half the strength 24 hours after my first shower with it. Unknowns: I do not know how long this bar will last. It may be that value per ounce of this soap is much higher than standard soaps. I have bought some fancy hand-made soaps that seem to dissolve like cotton candy in water lasting a week to 10 days at the most despite costing $5-$7. So far this bar seems like it will be lasting for a long time. But it is too early to tell. I will try to update this review once I have taken my very last shower with it. EDIT: Today is November 7. This bar of soap lasted just about exactly a month. 4 weeks and 3 days to be exact. Averaging 1 bar per month at $15 a bar means I'd be spending $180 a year on soap. It is good soap. But not worth that for me. I'll keep looking for something more affordable. I really thought I'd get at least 2 months out of a bar that size.

I'm 65 and I've tried so many different brands of soap over the years, even more expensive than Mistral. Some were very good, but overall Mistral soap is the best I have ever used. I see other reviewers that say the bar of soap lasts them months, but in my experience I get 6 weeks at most out of it. I don't mind at all though, because I enjoy the rich lather Mistral soaps provide. Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't regret it! Also, it really helps with my dry skin and it smells amazing!

I love this scent mixed with my vanilla scents.. talk about kicking it up a notch.. I will say alone it's quite drying.. sad.. not hydrating at all.. but if you use with a hydrating product. You'll do fine. This smells so good. Even if I take a quick shower and run to the store. Someone is asking me what are you wearing.. between this soap and the method body coconut rice milk shea butter. And then use the EOS 24-hour moisture vanilla cashmere body lotion. You can add on other body butters and oils. I always say layer up for hydration.. That combination is so yummy. So delish.. You smell like a grown up snack. It will make women and men turn their head. Gay straight doesn't matter. They will sniff you up. Especially if they love scents... Better warming. Soothing. Comforting. Soft. They have an ebb and flow not sharp.. the vanilla takes any hard curves from it... Chef's kiss.. Don't use it alone. And if your man does. Please hydrate him. He's going to need it... I hydrating soap to add. Sorry y'all. You missed the hydration mark on this one. Tobacco vanilla Castile soap.. oh yeah.. that was some vanilla cashmere as well. So good. I do not like flowers. I do not like tutti frutti. Never have never will. I am on the warm side. More of a tropical soft side. I like scents that enveloped me with comfort triggers. I find florals. And fruits. Quite off putting too many. Never have I had anyone stop me dead in my tracks and beg me please tell me what are you wearing. And it's always a combo of something. I'll tell you I do not gate keep. Edible warmth. Heaven to me. You can even throw a food on top of the edible warmth. In the fruit category. Such as apple. Pear even peach. But it's a rarity to find good ones. I don't like the ones everyone else likes today. No thanks it would be really nice if someone came out with the bright crisp apple oil. Anywho. Love the soap adore it. Love it love it love it love it.. it smells so good. The kind of sniff that you will sniff your man's skin. Into your nostrils.. you will huff sniff him. Haha enjoy.

I need to preface my review by saying that I have been using liquid soap since I was a kid. Every couple of years I get a bar soap and then go back to using liquid soap. Therefore, those that specifically prefer bar soap over liquid may disagree with my views. Now, the packaging. This is the best part of the "package," so to speak. The box is heavy from the soap bars, and the design is very nice. You open it up and the four bars are sitting there nice and tightly packed. For presentation I would give 5/5. But this is supposed to be a product with utility, not aesthetic design, so that goes only a little bit into the review. So essentially, you are paying a little over $10 for each bar of soap. I will describe my experience with the soap now, one by one. So far, I have only use the blue cedarwood marine soap. Perhaps this is just how all bar soap feels in general, but I felt like it left my skin immediately drier (or perhaps stickier?) than when I use liquid body wash. The feeling wears off a few minutes after getting out of the shower, but it definitely had me wondering if liquid soap is better for your skin. As far as scent, while the soap bar itself has a strong scent if left uncovered, I didn't feel like it left such a strong skin on my body. It smelled somewhat nice, but very weak. I could barely smell it on myself. Within a few hours, the scent had faded. Now, it is possible I just can't pick up the smell of my own skin as well as someone else might, but I just don't see the great value in spending $10 to use the same bar of soap for a month, when I can spend $7 for liquid body wash for two months (and not rubbing the same thing on me for that time period). Some of the liquid soaps even have stronger scents now that stay on you for a lot longer than this soap. Its nice presentation, and as far as bar soaps go, its got a decent scent, but its not worth the cost to me. I will update the review as I try the others, but I have a feeling little will change except the scent being slightly different, they all had a woodsy smell in the box. Overall, nicer than some other bar soaps, but stick to liquid soap if you already use it. Update 1: The cedarwood marine soap lasted about a month, not using it every day. Something else I didn't consider before of the benefit of these soap bars over liquid soap is that they act as a nice all natural air freshener. My bathroom had a nice scent since I left the bar of soap out. I haven't really changed my original opinion on cedarwood marine. It is a nice scent, but doesn't last particularly long. I have begun using the sandlewood bamboo scent now. It isn't as powerful as the cedarwood marine, but still okay. It doesn't have quite as good of an air freshener benefit. Overall I still feel it is an adequate product, especially if you already use bar soap. 3 stars means it is okay, and I am keeping that rating for now.

That's a big chunk of soap right there. leaves you feeling clean, refreshed and without smelling perfumed to hell. I know I sound like an advert but hey, it's good soap.
