Have not got the chance to use it ,but feel very comfortable having it ready for when it's need it, tool seems to be made with quality , time will tell if it last .

I used this bypass tool to test it out, and while it works fine, it does seem very lightweight or flimsy. My guess it would probably stand up to only about a dozen uses or one tough use before it simply broke. I see this an emergency tool for regular people, and would assume and hope a professional locksmith would buy much better tools.

I've been an entry specialist since I was a kid. My curiosity with locks has served me well as an adult in my organization. I'm the go-to guy when people can't get into their offices or other areas. I'm also able to ID security issues as I see them, things like easily shimmed doors, broken access control, and other vulnerable areas. I demonstrate these vulnerabilities with witnesses and on video to forward to our management. Our agency is spread out across an entire city, and incorporates hundreds of building. It's a useful skill set to have.I got this so I could carry it around with me when I visit sites to try on doors. It's a pretty standard device - quite common. I don't have any issues with its construction. There have been notes about the flexibility, but frankly in some ways I think it's an asset. I can bend and reposition the tool and it still works the same, increasing/decreasing the size of the J hook. I think it's plenty strong enough to turn a thumb screw. The good and bad news is that I haven't been able to find many doors where I can use this. This vulnerability is still quite common, and I often see doors in retail spaces, etc where this vulnerability still exists. I do my best to indicate why it is insecure and advise on how to fix the issue.I'll likely coat the end in rubber dip, as I don't care how scratch resistant something claims to be; metal on metal is probably going to leave a mark.

Ordered this for work purposes, used it for the first time and it broke. Great product but cheaply designed. I returned and got my money back. I ordered a new one from an actual company and paid basically the same price. DO NOT BUY from Amazon!

This is a pretty high quality bypass turner. The material and quality of construction is very good. At first my thought might be it could be too stiff to maneuver through some door insulation, but that’s mainly just for doors this isn’t designed for, and frankly I’m impressed by how well this handles turning locks given the sturdiness of the construction!
