Ok, this cookbook means well but it has so many mistakes in the recipes. After years of buying cookbooks I've never seen anything like this. There are ingredients listed in the description that never appear on the ingredient list in almost every recipe. In one instance a recipe's title mentions a spice that isn't even included in the recipe at all. Ha! Very sloppy. And I'm only on week 1 of the recipes.

Mistakes abound!
Having been diagnosed with high blood pressure and told to follow the DASH way of eating, I was looking for good recipes to start the change. First mistake I found was when I was trying to follow the "week of meals".....a couple recipes listed in the week chart, weren't included in the book!! Then I made the Salmon, Spinach, Tomato Lasagna.......guess what? NO TOMATOES ANYWHERE IN THE RECIPE!!! Do not waste your money on this book!

This book is one step up from junk
Where to begin? First, no listing of calorie totals for each day. Second, no recommendations for adjusting calorie totals for different size people. Third, one “dinner” on the menu simply calls for orange beef, at 289 calories. No side dishes listed. 289 calories for a large man for dinner? Nope. Serve it with brown rice, maybe. One breakfast calls for 1cup of oatmeal and a cup of blueberries, when the recommended serving size for both is 1/2 cup. The book has some good hints and ideas, but it is not a “beginner” book.

I love this book
I love this book! Easy to follow. I HATE to cook. HATE it. These recipes are simple and easy and no-fuss. So far everything I have made has been very tasty. I recommend!

Do your homework before you shop.
I just finished prepping for day one week one. I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews that say there are crucial recipe items not included on the shopping list.The shopping list claims to have everything you need to complete week one for one person. There are countless items in the recipes that are not mentioned in the shopping list. I caught some of these pre-shopping, but have just realized that I also missed quite a few. My favorite so far is on the shopping list it says you need 2 bananas. You need 7.Also, on day 2 your snack is the same morning and afternoon. Easy enough to change, but annoying that you need to.I have yet to eat the recipes, so I’ll have to report back on that. A lot of the recipes say “serve immediately.” I’m hoping that’s more for “so it’s still hot” and not for integrity of the recipe. I have to meal prep and bring things to work.Sit down and read every recipe before shopping. Do not count on the shopping list.

someone with hypertension, like me, perfect way to get my blood pressure back on tract. easy to read recipes. i love the way the author talks about the different foods and what the health benefits are for each one.and such variety so many different foods to choose from.the recipes are simple with ingredients that are common in most kitchens.

Buy the paperback version
I bought the Kindle version of this book and am back buying the paperback because there is apparently no way to print out the shopping lists, menus and recipes from the ebook, or if there is, I certainly couldn't do it. Thanks to all for the heads up to check the shopping lists against the menus to make sure all items are purchased. That is a pain, but I will put the extra time money and effort in because I really need to do this. My health depends on it

Love this recipe book. Uses ingredients most people would already have. Good, easy to make meal ideas.
