If you are debating whether to purchase these nitric oxide strips or not, do it! When I first bought these along with some nitric oxide supplement I was skeptical that these were possibly rigged to show everyone's levels low. But then I had some of my younger healthier family test theirs with these strips and their levels were fine. I had developed high blood pressure and other symptoms such as fatigue, muscle pain, blurry vision, low energy. Physicians have never told me or anyone I know to check their nitric oxide levels and only treated my high blood pressure with ace inhibitors but my nitic oxide levels were still really low. Once I brought mine back up I felt a lot better. I had an herbalist friend that referred me to look into my nitric oxide levels and he swore that they saved his mom's life. These strips do work to give an approximation of nitric oxide levels. Serum NO is what you want to know (NO in the blood) but this is an expensive test. Saliva NO is found to be a good approximation though. I found it best to test once or twice a week before breakfast. This gives a good baseline without interactions from foods. I do find my levels jump if I test after taking beet juice or beet powder. So it does react to nitrates in your mouth. Its best to test without food so you don't get a false reading. These strips will give you a general idea on your NO levels but its not an exact science. At least you can see if you are really low and if you are making progress over time.

I was watching a lecture about Nitric Oxide from someone who studies it and it made me curious about my levels. Is my fatigue due to low levels of Nitric Oxide? I have type 2 diabetes so thought it was that and I'm sure it affected me, but my diabetes has been well managed now for years and I still feel like my energy is low. Then I thought maybe it's age, but after listening to some lectures decided to check. I tested twice and the results were the same, LOW. I'm assuming the strips are accurate and will test again after taking the supplements for awhile to see if there's any improvement. I'll update this review. The strips last for 6 months after opening so I marked the date with a permanent marker on the container. The 25 strips should be enough to take a couple tests per month to track my Nitric Oxide levels. The item sticker was over the instruction so I had to remove it. If you have the same problem essentially it suggests to test your saliva in the morning before eating, brushing and mouthwash, etc. as that could affect Nitric Oxide level testing. Wash your hands well, use a finger to gather up some saliva and put it on the test pad of the strip. When it turns color compare it to the colors on the container. As you can see from the picture I'm at the low end. I ordered some Nitric Oxide supplements as well as some reviewers said they felt more energetic, but they aren't arriving for a while. As I'm sensitive to some plant foods I have to careful about eating those that might be helpful with raising Nitric Oxide thus the supplement. I am hoping it will help my fatigue. Found out my anxiety meds work against it. I can’t maintain a healthy level. Checked with the test strips and used as directed. Doubles up first month. Some improvement that lasts about 2 hours after taking it. Meaning energetic, alert etc. Just not worth the cost for me to over work my other meds. Tastes good. Probably effective for normal folk not on other meds that fight against it.

These strips work very well in determining the bodies nitric oxide levels in the nitric oxide cycle (NO3 -> NO2 - NO), tested in saliva. Have used these in a class I gave to test nitric oxide levels in 16 participants, from the use of various nitric oxide inducing supplements. Although the accuracy can't be absolutely verified by the use of the strip, they seem to give a good estimation of the levels in saliva.

I am so impressed with this test, it allows me to understand the changes I need to make to improve my nitric oxide status. The only problem I had with them was the cannister has the color chart on the outside to read the test strips. Someone in shipping placed two super sticky identity shipping tags over the color bar. This basically made them useless. Fortunately after a couple of hours of careful peeling and wiping I managed to remove most of it.

Simply too expensive to use on an ongoing basis.
