Great Outdoor Watch!
I did A LOT of research to find a watch that I could use for various outdoor activities AND wear to work (suit & tie). That research led me to this watch, and it's been perfect.First of all, most outdoor dedicated watches are, IMO, a mess to look at. They try to cram too much into something that you wear on your wrist. What I needed for my backpacking, hiking, kayaking and other outdoor adventures/travels was a watch that tells ACCURATE time, has an alarm, a true GMT function (for my global adventures), shows the date, can read it at night and is analog. In addition, it had to be able to withstand the abuse that comes along with this type of activity and it needed to be lightweight. It must be truly waterproof and it needed to be fashionable enough that I could wear it to work with a suit and tie. Finally, I had a certain budget in mind. All of this led to one watch...Vortech GMT. Here's why...Accuracy - I have the phone number to the US Naval Observatory Master Clock programmed into my phone. I am OCD when it comes to a timepiece showing accurate time. The Vortech GMT has a Swiss movement (it doesn't get better than that) and is accurate to +/- 5 seconds every 2 months. That's accurate.Alarm - When you need to wake up at 3am to begin a summit attempt, you need something that will wake you up. The Vortech does that. It's got a ceramic resonator that makes a surprisingly loud alarm. In addition, it's got a snooze feature...a snooze on a watch. That's cool.GMT - If I'm traveling somewhere in the world, I don't want to have to try to figure out what time it is back home. My wife doesn't like to be called when it's 3am her time, even though it's 6pm my time. This watch has a true 24 hr GMT feature that tells me the exact time for a second time zone.Date - It's got a date window and it works...enough said.Night use - this one was tricky. I didn't want a watch with a light where you have to push a button. I wanted something that would truly glow at night, throughout the night. The Vortech has Grade A Superluminova on the hands, number/hour markers, alarm hand and GMT hand. It all works well enough that I can see it at night.Analog - I don't like digital watches. In addition, analog allows me to wear it to work. Combined with the beautiful Italian leather band that it comes with, it looks great at the office. In addition, I can also use the watch hands to determine general direction.Tough/Lightweight - This thing is made of titanium. It's very tough and it's very lightweight. It comes with a mineral crystal face which is very scratch resistant. If you'd like, you can upgrade the face to a sapphire crystal.Waterproof - one of the quickest ways to determine if a watch is waterproof is to check the crown. Does it simply push/pull or is it screwdown? The latter is MUCH better for waterproofing and this one has it.So there you have it. If you're looking for a watch with the same requirements that I had, this is the one to get. You'll be happy, I certainly am!UPDATE: I wanted to add a comment on St Moritz/Momentum customer service. In the first couple of months that I've owned the watch, I had to contact them for a couple questions about usage. Calling them was like calling a locally owned and operated business. I talked to knowledgeable and sincerely friendly people. For example, I called and spoke to a young lady about the alarm feature on the watch. She said that it would be best if I spoke with one of the technicians. She said she would have him call me and within 90 minutes, I got a call back...amazing! Try getting that kind of service from other watch providers.

Great travel watch
Bought this to wear on a trip to Konya, Turkey. Needed a waterproof lightweight watch with 2nd time zone. This has both as well as an alarm. Most of the watches I own are 38 mm, and some of the older watches from the 1940's are 36 mm so this one at first seemed to be large. But once it was on my wrist it felt totally natural and in comparison to the trend today for ultra-large watches, it is just about right. (I have smaller than average wrists, so take that into account.)I really like the clean look which can be read clearly and at an immediate glance. I rarely need to count down the seconds when traveling so the sub-dial for the second hand is fine. The date lies between the "4" and "5" o'clock marks and sometimes the initial digit is difficult to make out but this is not a problem if you look directly (perpendicular) to the face. The settings are extremely easy and intuitive and the directions are explicit and clear. I also like that the buttons for alarm, GMT, and date are not too obtrusive.Even the strap feels good, though I also did buy an alternate band just in case. All in all this is a beautifully designed watch, both for aesthetics and function. I will report back again after I have used it for a longer period. Congratulations to Momentum out of Vancouver for an excellent product.

Poor buy. Disappointed.
Very disappointed. Alarm is hardly audible, even to young ears. Luminova very scantily painted onto large hands, and dims very quickly, and hardly visible after 1 hour. Don't recommend any one buys this for this price. Get cheaper Casio or Seiko.

Exellent watch.
Is a complete watch with dual time and alarm. Good reading. One comment: my watch has not leather strap. It cames with rubber strap.

Great watch. The alarm is not very loud but ...
Great watch. The alarm is not very loud but when you have gotten used to what to expect subconsciously it does wake you up.I need to keep the watch close so wearing it while sleeping is the answer for me. The 2 time zones are great if you travel a lot which I do so I love it.

were great features to have while travelling
I purchased this watch prior to taking a trip to Europe. Having the dual time zones, and an alarm, were great features to have while travelling. While the watch is large, it never feels like you have a big heavy watch on, as the titanium case keeps the weight to a minimum. I have no regrets with the purchase of this well made and well styled time piece.

Buon prodotto
Ben fatto, leggero (del resto è titanio) , la lancetta GMT è una gmt "vera" (nel senso che è totalmente indipendente dall'ora locale). Vale i soldi che costa.
