I love this lens
I bought this lens to use on the a7riii on vacation. I had very low expectations because I just wanted a pancake lens for personal use, it didn't matter to me if it wasn't perfect. I discovered that this lens is one of the best I've ever used for very bright, full sun days when I shoot events professionally. My Sony primes are ok in these situations, but this one is so reliable. The photos are always awesome, the sky never blown out. It's so small and makes my load so light that I can shoot very quickly and get really great candids. I highly recommend this lens if you shoot in bright sun on a regular basis and need a quick little prime at a great price.

Don't let the brand name fool you
Don't allow the brand name to fool you, this lens is legit! I have used this on several shoots over the past few months and the quality is unbelievable. This lens is incredibly small and lightweight making it a perfect option for street photography. For the money you will not find a better option for a 35mm, and the quality is better than the Sony native option in my opinion. I must mention is that the lens produces a warmer tone to the images which may or may not be a good thing depending on your taste but this is an easy fix in post. Additionally, this lens can be noisy when focusing so it is not a good option for video. If you're looking for a solid performer that won't break the bank, this it it! It's lightweight, incredibly sharp and an unbeatable value.

Good value and fun to use.
I am very happy with this lens after a week of using it so far, including on a short vacation. The images are plenty sharp on a 24mp camera. Maybe not good enough for the higher mp Fe mount cameras, but I can't say for sure. Auto focus is quick and accurate in good light. There is a some hunting in low light, but I personally don't find it atrocious. I've spent more for lenses that don't perform any better in terms of focusing and am less annoyed about it on this lens because I didn't pay much for it. Flare is nothing to worry about - well controlled. Occasions where you need to block light with your hand seem pretty rare. Haven't paid attention to fringing, but there's plenty of reviews online with all the nitty gritty info if you want to look that up. From just a usability perspective, I feel it's a good lens for the price, particularly considering the alternatives for 35mm on full frame fe mount. It's a very plasticky lens, but it's also very small and lightweight, so there's a trade off there. What you lose in durability, you gain in value for money and carrying weight. If you're on a budget but really want to try a 35mm prime, I recommend it. It's a joy to use as a walk around street lens with it's ultra tiny size, and I think iq is good enough for most people's environmental portrait needs. I do not expect this lens to survive much time in the rain, a fall, or many bumps and nocks, but I could be wrong. I haven't had it long enough to say for sure. It just feels so light weight, it's hard to believe that it's very tough. Time will tell.

Great value for your money
I bough this lens after reading and watching many reviews. I wanted something wider than a 50mm. this lens is small, light and very compact. Yes the build quality is not that of the sony lens but for the price its fine. the image quality is stunning on this lens very sharp with good colors, suits my needs perfectly. I read many reviews about the auto focus noise being loud, but honestly my copy is very quiet. Actually it is quieter than my sony 50 mm 1.8 .And he complaints about the lens hood falling off ,well there is a audible click when it is locked in place, so no issues there .If I had to pick one negative thing in my opinion it would be the lens cap but that's no big deal you can get a sony cap at B&H for $6 that fits.I can honestly recomend this lens if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the 35mm zeiss or sony .In fact I am eying the samyang 75mm for my next purchase.

Excellent Compact Budget lens that may surprise you!
Amazing value for unexpected sharpness. The hype and reviews where true, this is sharp for both photos and video on both my old A7rii and new A7iii. The focus is decently fast, but does hunt a small bit in lower light. I would not use for video straight from camera, you will hear some motor sounds on continuous auto focus, but single focus helps. Note, the sound is not as distracting as the side metal neck strap holders that need to be removable. If your looking for Full Frame Compactness, Sharpness, Decent Apature, Wide/35mm angle, and Value. This is worth the price. Not best of best of course, but best budget awesomeness!

Great lens for the money!
I bought this lens for my a7III for street photography and eventually portraiture and so far I am impressed. It is virtually weightless and tiny on the camera. While the exterior is mostly plastic, the attachment ring is a durable metal. Shots are crisp with or without bokeh depending on your settings. Auto-focus is just a tad slow but that should not deter you from this lens. For the price and functionality, it should definitely be considered over more expensive 35 mm prime lenses.

Didn't work out of the box.
Tried this on my A7II and it's not detecting the lens. I thought it may be an issue with my body since I only shoot vintage MF so I tried another body and it's not detecting it. I bought the Samyang docking station to do a firmware update and I'm curious to see if it will make a difference. Even if it does having to buy a separate docking station is another hassle. I bought this lens to take with me on a trip and since it wasn't functional I got no use out of it. Seriously disappointed.
