I noticed a lot of reviews stated that it leaked really bad after install, which honestly made me question even getting this thing. I knew I wanted one of these after upgrading to a sand pump to help with water circulation. I had no issues with this whatsoever. Make sure the gasket is in there, add a little Teflon tape and this thing works great leak free. Great purchase

This part was the perfect fit for the Summer Waves SFX 1000 skimmer. I upgraded to an Intex sand pump and this part made the conversion so easy. Very easy to install. Includes plumbers tape to get a great seal. No leaks whatsoever. I no longer have to have the summer waves pump hooked up to the bottom of the skimmer. Highly recommended if you’re upgrading to a sand pump.

First off i will say this works as it should IF you make sure when you put the o ring gasket in the bottom you take a small object and push it in completely if not it will leak. You have yo make sure its fully seated in the groove for it. i see a lot of complaints about leaks and i bet this is part of the reason. Second definitely use the tape on the threads just in case put a good layer. But not to much last make sure you snug it nice and tight if poasible make sure the skimmer housing is not on the pool because it is hard to snug it real tight with a full pool however it is possible thay is how i did it it was a bit of a pain but ultimately it worked out fine. I upgraded to a 2500gph pump.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to upgrade my pump because the one it comes with was slower and did not have a timer. I also needed to take out the motor on the skimmer so my pump won’t work as hard. If I could do this anyone can. I bought the two male hose adapters and a second hose. Make sure the seal is pushed down tight with the line side up and wrap the threads with the tape a few times! This took me 20 minutes!! No leaks!

Our Summer Waves SFX1000 pump/skimmer was broken within a week of buying the pool at Walmart. The pipe fell off and drained so much water that the pump ran dry for hours and overheated. An external sand pump/filter would be my only choice. Rigging is great, but this was easier. This cap fits perfectly! I used the entire role of teflon/plumbers tape to avoid any leaks. Sealed like a charm.The cut cable was for the support ticket that gave us a replacement pump (backup now) for the skimmer.

Well first off let me start with saying, this plastic product is way expensive, over priced and it should have came with when you bought the pool or a book list of additional parts for purchases. For me I didn't know this product even existed until I did some research but of course I bought this piece of plastic and I installed it with some plumber's tape to get a good seal and have no leaks at all. Yeah I have to say it did help my pool vacuum real well. My pool is always clean now for doing the summer waves conversion kit to my skimmer that I didn't even know about. So the delivery was very fast because I bought it Tuesday (7/3/18) morning and came in Thursdays evening (7/5/18). So far I have no leaks but I would have given a 5 stars rating or review just because it over priced I gave it 3 stars, so I'm saying this just because I live Phoenix, Az where it's hot and heat does not mix well with plastic but everything else is good so far.

Glad to get the old pump out of the skimmer box for increased flow with big sand filter/pump.
