26-2 Replacement Shoe Kit for Aluminium Ladder - SHOE REPL KIT for D1200 D1300 D1700 D1800 Extension Ladder Feet

For months, I have wanted to repair a steel panel awning in the entryway of our home, and doing it correctly has been at the forefront of every material and tool that I have planned for this project. The critical part has been creating a scaffold for a difficult angle to the top of the awning using an extension ladder. Through trial and error, I have used, borrowed and dismissed the ladder options available to me, because of the various ladder heights and sturdiness. I reluctantly pulled out a 40 year old 24 foot extension ladder that I had hopes would work, and to my disappointment did not have feet! I proceeded to research whether extension ladder feet were an item to be ordered. I was greatly relieved to see that a DITKOK product existed with width options and hardware at reasonable prices. My ladder was a heavy gauge aluminum ladder that required a heavy gauge set of feet that were offered through this company with easy to use instructions for a variety of ladder type legs. The hardware was appropriate for this specific application, and the installation was a breeze. Even the instructions were in English and Spanish with great color illustrations to refer to (unlike the instructions that come with earbuds that force me to use a magnifying glass to read). Thank you DITKOK for a quality product that suits my needs. Having come out of an engineering background, I learned that "Quality does not mean good, but rather "adherence to customer requirements" This product hit all the bells and whistles that I had hoped for. Ordering was quick and convenient with acknowledgement of order, and updates on shipping with a close pickup spot. The mounting, pivoting and redgidity of the feet on the ladder are excellent. These are well made ladder feet. The bolts were a little too long for my application, so I had to add some shim washers as my ladder is much narrower than most but the feet work well and I have a safe ladder again.

I bought this kit to equip a European ladder that I brought with me across the pond which was not equipped with shoes at all thus had a tendency to dig itself into soft ground. This kit did the trick, the plastic spacer was just a perfect fit even though I had to drill holes to align with it. The only issue is the length of the bolt unnecessarily longer than required by 1 inch!! I had to McGyver a spacer with vinyl tubing to avoid this bolt to swing right and left which can be a safety issue. As an improvement I would like to see the shoe a bit larger for better stability on very soft grounds. It could easily be wider by 1 inch of both sides and 1 inch on the front, opposite to the spikes.
