This was my first attempt at no caffeine substitute. And it was just what I needed to wean myself off of caffeine. It's good, but I have discovered other favorites. Caffix is my current favorite. Caffix is darker and tastes richer to me. I think it might be the figs that lend an aromatic (but not a sweet taste), just a richer taste. But Postum is awesome as well. It was so helpful. Thanks for being available.

This stuff is delicious. Tastes like hot chocolate. My only complaint is that it's difficult to figure out the calories per serving. I know it's not much, though. Product is a little on the pricy side, but a couple of teaspoons is enough for a large coffee cup. I will be ordering more soon!

Remember it from days gone by, enjoyed it. Flavor okay, doesn’t mix well ,leaves cup residue , doesn’t taste coffee/chocolate, too pricey, taste not as described, but doesn’t have sugar/caffeine. Trying tsp. mixed into decaf coffee and a tsp.of LS Swiss Miss (5G) to see which has better flavor. Won’t buy Postum again. When a tsp. of LS Swiss Miss in is more satisfying in our decaf coffee I’d rather do that. Buying a caffeine free coffee alternative with chocolate flavor but this really isn’t. So decaf remains our alternative with a tsp. Low sugar SM at 5Gs. Try it this way if you can do a little sugar, it’s a delicious hot treat! And sadly we’ll leave the Postum behind for now:(

Not bad as a coffee replacement, it does not taste like coffee, but it has a pleasant taste itself. However, I find that Pero dissolves better for me, I can use a coffee stir stick with Pero but this requires a fast spoon stirring to dissolve, and even then there is often a sludge at the bottom when I am done drinking. The chocolate taste is a nice change from the regular barly flavors of most coffee substitutes. Overall: decent flavor and mouth feel. However, the cost compared to similar items it too high. In the future I'll just mix some coco powder with Pero for a similar taste that would be half the cost.

I drink a lot of cocoa flavor postum! A few thoughts. I read a few reviews where people say it doesn't dissolve and leaves a thick residue, and others that say it is expensive. The solution to both is the same - don't use so much! I use large mugs, and one flat teaspoon is plenty. If you use two teaspoons, or even one heaping teaspoon, it won't all dissolve and you're just wasting it. Using one flat teaspoon you get the full flavor and I easily get 60 mugs out of an 8oz jar, which makes the price reasonable. One other comment. Postum doesn't taste like coffee at all, and not particularly like hot chocolate. It has it's own flavor. If you are expecting coffee flavor, you will be disappointed.

I used to love the original possum back in the 80s and 90s. I even tried the "new" one a couple of years ago during the COVID lockdowns, and thought it was decent. This mess, however...BEWARE! It had a horrible taste and smell after making a cup (the smell was akin to the work product of a newborn's diaper). Also, there were white flecks in the container. At first, I thought, maybe wheat brain hulls, but it turned out to be WHITE PLASTIC SHAVINGS. I'm keeping the container just in case I get sick and can show the contents to a medical provider. I would avoid this product at all costs. Hopefully, I don't end up in the hospital from the one or two sips I took.

I purchased Postum as an alternative to coffee, because lately I've been getting too amped up with even a small amount of caffeine. The cocoa blend has a rich chocolate flavor. I put in three heaping tablespoons in a 12 oz cup, together with a little milk, a few spoonfuls of Laird Hamilton Superfood Creamer, and some agave syrup. It really satisfies my craving for a coffee-like drink. I find it takes some extra stirring to get all the cocoa to dissolve but the effort is worth it.

I truly LOVE the taste of POSTUM - replaces my craving for coffee and hot chocolate. Over the years, I noticed that caffeine causes joint pain in my body. I have been without both regular and decaf coffee for at least three years now. A friend told me to buy POSTUM as a substitute. I am soooo happy!! Will be purchasing more very soon!!
