The first ingredient is beef broth. is this actually bone broth or just plain old beef broth? thank you.

You are correct in the ingredients - thenproduct is labeled as bone broth and the packaging refers to it as bone broth several times. It is also claims to be human grade so I'm not sure if it's labeling had to be held to a higher standard. I checked my pantry for human bone broth and the ingredients in the Pacifica brand just lists beef broth too and no mention of beef marrow bone. Not sure if they don't list the bones as ingredients because they are removed?

my dog is overweight. should i give this to him, is it fattening?

I doubt it is fattening when served in moderation. I've been adding a little bone broth to the dry food I give both my dogs -- enough to just provide some moisture. They love it. I also am conservative in the amount of snacks I give them, and we get out and walk for exercise. Both are pretty stable weight-wise, and the vet doesn't consider them overweight.

How many calories per packet?
