If you had to buy this product, I'm sorry your company is still making you carry around a 30lb dinosaur. I totally empathize with you. There are plenty of ports to hook up your trackball, modem, floppy disk drives, and ribbon printers, and the dock adds a touch of "my company is still buying garbage computers from a company who hasn't innovated anything in 30 years" to your desk. Sadly, I think, this is still the best option to hook up monitors and stuff to your embarrassingly gigantic and outdated "machine" that accidentally zooms every time you try to use the trackpad for scrolling, just make sure you get the 2 million watt power supply that's the size of a shoebox so your laptop will actually charge.

Note that Dell sells a spacer block for this dock. Basically, if you have one of the more compact laptops of this generation, the laptop sits at the very and of the dock (a) making it challenging to line up correctly without that spacer, and (b) leaving a huge gap between the dock body and the laptop and wasting a ton of space on the desk. That aside, it works as advertised, lets you hook up multiple monitors, keyboard, mouse, power, network, and you just drop the laptop on it to get working.

Two obsolete laptops with new SSDs, new Windows 10 OS, 2 new docking stations, two cheap but huge Samsung monitors, not glamorous, not prestigious, but they work.

Was a perfect fit but the release button is not real smooth. Have to be gentle to get the laptop disconnected. Seems like the release wants to hang up.

Does not fit the computer listed

The product arrived on time. It works as specified. One unexpected feature -- I am able to connect 3 separate displays to my dell Lattitude 7440 without resorting to special adapters.
