Chef'n EzSqueeze One-Handed Can Opener (Black and Meringue)

I originally got this can opener because my wife had broken her elbow and couldn't use that arm. I had seen a youtube video of a lady who was one-armed and how she did all her cooking. She recommended this can opener in her video so I thought we'd give it a try. This can opener is very sturdy. This is actually my second purchase. The first one lasted for probably 4-5 years of daily use. For a $15 hand crank can opener thats a pretty good life time. Even after my wife's arm healed we kept using it because honestly it worked better than most of the electric can openers we have owned. If you appreciate simplicity, low cost, and the fact that it doesnt require electricity then I highly recommend this can opener. Of course if your missing an arm then I would also recommend this can opener. Overall its a surprisingly good product thats going to last even with frequent usage.

Facing a surgery which would prevent me using my dominant hand for a couple months, I was concerned about fixing meals for myself. I ordered this hoping for the best. Turned out it was very easy to use with no help from the right hand, just squeezing repeatedly and the opener "walked" right around the top of the can. The magnet worked well to pick the loose lid off the food. I'd recommend this opener if you are only able to use one hand, short term or permanently.

This can opener broke the first day I used, is a piece of garbage

I love this thing. I bought it because I had shoulder surgery on my dominant shoulder and knew I'd have trouble opening cans after surgery. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't work as well with my left hand (I'm right handed and had surgery on my right shoulder). I needn't have worried, it works like a charm on either side. It's also very compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space in a drawer. I like it better than my other can openers and will continue to use it as my go-to opener even after I'm out of the arm immobilizer, it's that good.ETA: Now that I've had this for almost a year, it's no longer working well. The U-shaped metal piece came out and the opener is now very difficult to use. I had a heck of a time opening a can of tuna tonight. I eventually got it open but it took quite a few tries. The opener started skipping and popping off.If you need a one handed opener, this one works but maybe not for too long. If you're temporarily immobilized it will work until you can use both hands but may not work long after that. I don't know if putting this in the dishwasher is what did it in or the fact that I keep it in a fairly crowded drawer so you may have a better experience than I did if you don't do those things.

I love this thing! I have pretty much no use of my left hand. (brain injury resulting in hemiparesis) I can't use manual can openers. The battery operated ones keep breaking and I'm tired of buying new ones every six months! This thing works so well. Easy to squeeze. I bought an extra one to keep with my camping stuff. I'm going to get another one for the cabin!!

My son can't use his left arm and I found this "one handed" opener. I LOVE it!!! It is the only opener I use now because it is so easy. It has lasted for a long time and still works great BUT I bought a second one to keep in my cupboard in case it wears out. BUY IT! One of my best Amazon purchases.

My husband had a stroke and can not use his left hand. He can now open a can fast and easily. It works great. It’s plastic-ish I just hope it is durable. I would buy this for anyone who has limits
