With padded sidewalls, convenient organization and a substantial suspension for backpack-style carry that disappears when checking bags, the Porter Series has set the standard for deluxe duffels. This season brings a relocated and dedicated zippered laptop and tablet pocket—and functional storage options for items both big and small—with multiple access points. When a duffel isn’t enough and backpacking bags are too much, the Porter is the answer.

Great bag but new design updates are a disappointment
This is my 3rd Osprey Porter 65. Unfortunately, my first one was severely damaged while in the possession of the airline on our last trip and I had to replace it. The airline offered me an Amazon gift card as reimbursement and it seemed easiest to take it and order a new one here.I was strongly questioning the authenticity of the bag purchased on this site. It is sitting next to my other Osprey Porter 65 and it appears smaller. Also fabric and build quality appear inferior, including zippers and the bottom handle.I planned to return the bag and purchase a new one at a brick and mortar store. Unfortunately, as I looked at the same model bag at the brick and mortar retailer where I purchased my first Osprey Porter 65, it became obvious that there have been some design updates. One might not notice, but having purchased two of these previously since 2017, I noticed. It's always a disappointment when a manufacturer downgrades quality on a beloved product (& continues to charge the same price).Another part of the new design that I don't like is the laptop compartment. It takes up valuable space. For air travel, I doubt it would even be useful. The bag is probably far too large to be used as a carry on and I think most people keep their computer with them rather than in a checked bag.All of this being said, the older model Porter 65 is an incredible bag. Comfortable to wear, very roomy. Really great. Especially if traveling with kids, it's great to free up your hands. Not like a typical camping backpack, it zips open wide so you can see the contents just like a suitcase. Can't recommend one highly enough...I hope that the updated design does not disappoint. I'm bummed that the interior seems smaller.

Exceptional Travel Backpack
I am in the military and travel often on trips averaging about a week in length. I wanted a pack that was big enough to carry a full uniform (including boots) plus a week of civilian clothes as a carry on, something that packs in the 40-45 liter ballpark can’t do. This bag fits the bill. It has a tremendous amount of space and a very large amount of individual compartments to keep your gear organized, but will still fit in the overhead compartment of most larger aircraft. It even has a large pocket at the top for frequently used items, which honestly is something that every high quality pack should have. Just keep in mind that this is a backpack and thus lacks wheels. Also, if you are small, this pack might be a bit heavy for you when fully loaded. For me, this pack was exactly what I needed. A+

Durable
I took this bag as a check-in on a month and a half trip. It survived 15 flights and is still in great shape. The water resistant feature is great. I also was thankful the shoulder and waist straps tuck into the bag before you check-in. It definitely saved a lot of time. I would recommend this to anyone who needed a sturdy travel backpack to survive the check-in baggage service.

Best companion on the road
I down-sized to this pack and wasn't disappointed. It held everything I brought with me and bought on the road.It is super easy to clean and provided lots of organizing features. It is very comfortable while being quite stylish as well.I love my new pack and can't wait to keep discovering new places with it soon.I do wish they would come out with an actual grey or matching red shoulder strap for when I want to use this on weekend trips, but currently the company only has a strap that they call grey but is really olive green.

Fits so much!! Many uses. Love it!!
After having purchased one at another store I couldn’t pass up the killer sale price on Amazon for another Porter 65 to store my camping gear. I own the gray and teal, both look good it I like the gray with electric lime insides better. There’s so many uses for this pack/gear bag/duffle/travel bag, whatever you want to call it. My first time using it was to pack all my camping gear for my epic trip summiting Mt. Katahdin at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail. (Wore a Osprey Manta 20 AG for the hike) I packed the Porter with a one person and a three person tent (poles, rain fly and footprints as well), 1100ml cook system, go pro, sunglasses, bug spray, sunscreen, headlight, flashlights, phone, backup battery, clothes for three days, trail shoes, three lbs of food, rain jacket, wind breaker, toiletries, 10 total AA and AAA batteries. Inside it could still fit more too!! Outside I strapped a small collapsible table under the compression straps. My pack was REALLY heavy but once on, it carried very well and comfortable for 1/8 mile I wore it. I’ve been using for week long travel since. Perfect size to carry everything for a week. I’m a guy who doesn’t need a ton but like to be prepared for whatever.Pros:-separate shoe pocket on bottom-large front organizer pocket-thick stowaway shoulder, sternum and hip straps-tie downs in main compartment-full length side zip pocket in main-two kinda hidden flat pockets on back for table and laptop-compression straps-Osprey warranty-quality buildNo consHighly recommended!!

Great Travel Pack for Extended Trips
This is my 3rd Osprey Porter Travel Backpack. I had started with the Osprey Porter 46, which was great. My son is still using it. In the last few years I've been able to travel more, including 3-4 week trips overseas. Basically, I can carry everything I need, but food and water. On the other hand, because of it's weight and compression straps, it works just as well for overnight business trips. When you get the hang of it, it works as well as a garment bag for my suits and dress shirts.Truly, this is the only suitcase/travel bag that I've used for the last 7 years, and (covid aside) I travel 1-2 times a month.

Good Product - Not sure if it’s what I want
Nice Product. May or may not keep butseems well made. Not quite as large as I thought. Neat sinching system to keepthe contents inside stable. First Osprey product I’ve looked at closely - seems ofgood quality for the price.Seller was gracious and allowed me to return item. Will deal with them again. Thank you.
