Systane Nighttime Lubricant Eye Ointment, Severe Dry Eye Relief, 3.5 g Tube

I NEED this every night! I have dry eyes and this is the only thing that helps. Regular dry eye drops just dont last long. I put this in my eyes at bedtime and I wake up nice and moist which gets me through the day! It is a must have for me. I do have to kinda wash it out of my eyes in the morning because things are a bit blurry if you need to read something but that's nothing compared to dealing with dry eyes all day.

I've struggled with extremely dry eyes at night for years. Sometimes I would wake up and it felt like my eyelids were stuck to my eyeballs. The pain was intense, and I dreaded opening my eyes in the morning. This ointment has made a huge difference for me. I apply it every night before bed, and it helps keep my eyes lubricated while I sleep. Since I started using it regularly, I've experienced much less dryness and discomfort overnight. A little goes a long way, and although it can make your vision blurry right after application, that's not an issue since I'm going straight to sleep. It has become an essential part of my nightly routine. I like it so much that I've set up Subscribe & Save so I never run out. If you suffer from severe nighttime dry eyes, this product is definitely worth trying.

This is fantastic stuff! I can't live without it. I have extremely dry eyes, and put this on at night before I go to sleep. I have been using prescription drops during the day, and this at bed time for over 3 years now. It is very soothing. I would highly recommend.

The gel itself works great. I apply it at night before lights out, and then I wear a sleep mask until morning. When I wake up, my eyes are well lubricated, and I don’t have any of that irritation that feels like I’ve got something in my eye all the time. My only complaint is the tube itself. It’s very small, and when I squeeze it to apply the gel to my eye, more of the gel comes out of the tube and it’s hard to stop it. At $13 for a tiny little tube, I feel like an awful lot is being wasted. I try really hard to put the cap on quickly after I apply it, but I usually see at least a quarter to a half an inch of gel slopping down the side of the tube. I’m not sure why this is, but it is a complaint and it’s the only reason why I don’t give this product five stars. I will continue using it, however. It does what I want the gel to do.

Good stuff if needed. Just a little on the tip of your finger and spread over your eye lid will do the trick. A little goes a long way. I would buy again and have.

Buy this, it works! I was having major issues with one of my eyes, extreme pain, sensitive to light, red, itchy & irritated every couple weeks. First eye doc visit, we just assumed I scratched my cornea. By the 3rd visit was told recurrent corneal erosion. Saw someone else for the 4 day follow up & she said use eye drops as soon as you wake up, before you open your eyes...first I was like yeah right, I need to see to find the drops, if I even remember...then I felt it happen, my eyelid stuck to my eyeball overnight & ripped off part of my cornea when I first opened my eyes...yikes! But guess who never forgot again and kept her eyes closed until I felt around and found the eye drops lol. That helped but I realized my eyes were really dry & getting worse...thanks autoimmune. I'm going threw eyedrops like crazy, needing to use them like every hour because my eyes are dry & hurt. I figured there's got to be something that can help that's not full of steroids or needs a Rx. I prefer this brand of drops and after an Amazon search landed on this. I love it just has 3 ingredients, I don't love it's mostly petroleum, but felt better knowing that it's white petroleum which is highly refined to remove (hopefully) all toxins. Either way this stuff works well & I've had no issues. It's a tiny little tube but you only need a little, so it will last a long time & was inexpensive vs drops. My only complaint is when this type of tube, when it's accidentally/unknowingly squeezed when closed, it just comes gushing out when you take off the top. It seems to be better now that it's not so full. I use every night before bed & my eyes still feel lubricated when I wake. My eyes have improved significantly to the point I'm only using drops a few times a day! Yay!

Wasn’t great for me. I have severe dry eyes and waking up in the morning feels like ripping my eyelids away from my eyeballs like a band aid. Some days I felt some relief with the help of this gel, others I did not. The gel is a bit thicker than other products I’ve used. This may seem like it would help more but it seemed to me like it was harder to apply because it sticks to itself, and doesn’t want to separate itself from the rest in the tube, it just keeps coming out and you have to swipe the tip onto the eye, which is says on the instructions not to do, and then it doesn’t spread out around the eye due to the thickness, it stays in a glob and you have to help it along yourself. The tube itself is not designed well. The gel comes out whether you want it to or not, just curls out of the tube, which makes a mess and makes it hard to apply properly. The tube is like aluminum or whatever so when you get to the last bit it’s almost impossible to squeeze out, and when it’s as expensive as it is for such a small tube, that’s unfortunate, especially as a lot is wasted as well (re: it comes out of the tube on its own as soon as you open the cap and doesn’t stop when you stop squeezing). I’ve started using a different product that comes in a plastic tube and it does not have that issue. 3 stars because despite it all, sometimes it did work and using it was better than nothing. With there being much better options out there for a much lower price, I would not recommend.

I have dry eye and after applying this at night, my dry eye got worst and more redness in the morning. I have stopped using after two nights of trying. Unfortunately cannot return to Amazon used product. Money wasted.

Purchased this as I use a CPAP machine which dries my eyes at night and saw this recommended on a US blog . Okay but nothing special - not worth the price in my view. Also a bit 'gunky'. Prefer Blink Intensive Eyes Plus.

Really helped my dry eyes. My eyes feel much comfortable. Happy for the result.

good product, much more lasting in the night in comparison with systane ultra, which i usually use by day. just remember that AFTER you can't read or watch tv, but just sleep....good night.
