Q: Is this digging bar really a bright blue color?

Only when it's new. The color wears off the steel over time. I bought the bar for the digging, not as a decorator item, and I'm very glad that I have it. So are the guys on my landscaper's crew and my weekly gardeners. They ask to use it when I ask them to do some serious planting for me.

Q: I have something of the same dimensions right now and used it in situations where it starts to bend. Are these made with thicker bar stock as well?

It is made from 1-inch hex bar stock.
