I never knew how much I didn't know about raising chickens! My mother did it when I was young; all I remember was stepping in poop, collecting eggs, and feeding them giant tomato worms. (Also the baby chicks were so cute!) But now that I've read this book, I've learned so much about more about the overall process, I'm certain I could do it myself - which is exactly what I intend. Wish me luck! The book was easy to follow and very informative without being too "know-it-all". I like how it covers all the key areas, most common issues, and even where to find out more. I'll admit... I love the pictures too! But with a book like this, that's probably a given.If you are looking for chicken raising books like I was, you're probably hoping or intending to raise some. This is the perfect book for doing exactly that. Good luck and have fun with it! I know I will!

Wow! I am impressed with how comprehensive this book really is on how to raise chickens! So many people I know are raising and growing their own food now. People want to be more healthy and self sufficient and are searching for the best information to help them do so. I didn't know the first thing about raising chickens and so I thought I better start learning. This book came highly recommended to me and I am so glad that I purchased it. It has taught me everything that I need to get started and will help me with any questions or problems that come up along the way on my chicken raising journey. Looking forward to the chicken coop design and chicken breed guide sheets by this same author!

This is a good book for my library, but I thought it would have a little more information about home chicken care.

This was a quick and easy read that gave good, clear, interesting, and necessary information about chickens. If you are looking into raising chickens and want to learn how, or just want to brush up on the knowledge you already have, I'd recommend this one.

Interesting book and well written. More information on chickens than I thought possible. Definitely useful for anyone considering raising chickens in their yard.

An easy read, great for all levels, especially if you are thinking about raising them for the first time. My friend raises them, and I'm interested, just didnt know if I can do it well. This book helped me get a better grip on whats to come. Highly recommend.

A thin self-published pamphlet, not a book. Should be included free inside a bag of chick feed. Author too embarrassed to use complete name. Unhelpful. No detail. Value = 50 cents.
