Waveline RLSS R6-I Internal Protein Skimmer DC4000

The skimmer works well but the model they sent me had the DC pump built with metal female knurls inserts on the head that corroded. I contacted the company many times and they would respond after repetitive emails. They finally sent me the replacement pump head with titanium inserts, but it was completely different and could not get it to fit the skimmer; the pump inlet would hit the skimmer body because the new part was too large. I sent them pictures to show them and they never took ownership of the problem.

I really like this skimmer. It's without a doubt the quietest one I've ever owned. It's not completely silent however is the pump make a continuous whining sound, but it's not super loud. The big improvement is the almost total lack of hum or vibration. The other cool feature is being able to vary the flow rate of the pump. I found that setting it to about 50% yields the best results.

The Waveline RLSS R6-I Internal Protein Skimmer is one of the worst skimmer that I have tested. I have tested 2 units and both had the same problem after 1 and 2 years of operation. The propeller of DC-4000 pump stuck in the unit due to low quality materials.
