People always talk about the best things since sliced bread.... (my ADHD would take me down a complete rabbit hole of how sliced bread became the pinnacle for all things good, but that's neither here nor there. Sorry. See?!) The POINT is that this is one of the best purchases that I've made in quite some time; and Lord knows that I purchase, so that's saying a lot. *******PLEASE NOTE (if you didn't know already), that the microchip is NOT a tracking/GPS system to where you can see your furry friend escaped to or was taken from. It is so that if your fur baby ever escapes or gets lost, if he or she is brought to a facility that has microchip scanning ability, they will be able to see your information so that you can come pick up your little escape artist. You’ll need an additional product (I recommend in conjunction with this one if you desire location tracking.) ********* Also, I used this to microchip my cat - I didn't see any warnings or indications that it wasn't safe for cat use (and I scoured this product page as well as individual sites) to make sure that it was safe for my cat. So, there's that. Moving along: VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY: you literally cannot find much else on planet earth, especially in this economy, for less than the cost of this device on Amazon; not even that fabled 'sliced bread' that we refer to within that tired cliche. (I would put the amount that I paid, but 1) prices fluctuate, and 2) I have a very strong feeling that it'd be censored out. Just know that it costs less than your favorite snack or cup of coffee.... and most likely less than your favorite brand of that sliced bread. :] ) EASE OF INSTALLATION: Another old, tired cliche- "If I can do it, so can you." (I’d insert an eye-roll emoji here, but I'm reviewing this on my laptop so let's just pretend.) Seriously, though: if *I* can successfully do this, I promise that you can, too. I PROMISE. I strongly dislike needles or anything resembling one, and I was SO worried about hurting my cat while putting this in. To make sure that I understood the directions to install this competently and correctly, I read the sparse instructions that came with this product and then watched two (2) videos for education: one on Amazon on this product page and another on a different platform. I made sure that the needle was facing correctly (beveled side up), pushed the needle in its entirety underneath my cat’s skin between his shoulder blades, quickly verified that it was indeed underneath his skin (because he didn't even FLINCH. I was more scared than he was.), pushed the plunger all of the way down, ensuring that the chip expelled and remained inserted underneath this skin, and voila! Suddenly – legitimately 30 seconds later –, there I was with my newly minted microchipped fur child and greater peace of mind. The only thing left to do after this was to scan the QR code from the card that comes inside of the envelope and enter my information should he ever get lost and need to be returned to me. I hate to say that I've been wasting money at the vet for microchip services….; so, I won't say that- veterinarians are essential. What I will say is that because this service costs eight (8) times as much at the (low cost!) vet’s office in my area compared to what I paid here on Amazon, I will only resort to this way for microchip installation for as long as it's safe. This was a phenomenal buy considering its ease of use, the purpose that it serves and my goodness- the PRICE. It actually makes me want to go have a slice of bread in its honor. Perhaps I’ll make it into a sandwich or some French toast for a little extra razzle dazzle. If my cat sneaks and darts out while I’m putting out the trash after finishing, he always comes back when he’s hungry but in the instance that someone picked him up, I know now that he is microchipped, which should make it easier to return him to me (in addition to his “I’m lost” tag with my information and his current vaccine tags on his collar so hopefully it’d be obvious that he’s not a stray). Anyway- to sum up a long story that truly was long, this was a great purchase. I believe that you’ll think so, too!

Easy to do

The Fi Nano Microchip is arguably one of the best microchips currently on the market. It’s affordable, easy to access, and simple to register once implanted. One feature I really appreciate is that, if you’re comfortable and knowledgeable enough, you can insert the microchip yourself. However, I strongly recommend watching reputable tutorials or seeking guidance from a veterinary professional beforehand to ensure proper placement and safety. I personally implanted this chip in three of my dogs and my cat, and all of them scan perfectly with the universal microchip scanner I purchased from Amazon. Overall, I’ve had a great experience with this product and would definitely recommend it.

Exactly what I needed. The microchip arrived as described and the registration process was quick and easy. I really like that the lifetime registration is included at no additional cost and that the chip is universally scannable. Everything was perfect!

Excellent quality and affordable

Simple process, easy to handle, the fact that it’s sterile is awesome. My pup didn’t even flinch. So easy I did it without assistance. She is linked to our Fi app and her collar and chip are registered. It’s great to have it organized.
