Q: What size or model of shop vacs does this work with? I have a contractor model and it does not fit the supplied adaptor.

I used a 10 gallon shop vac from sears

hmmm...good question. I don't remember seeing the 16.5 inch rods offered when I bought mine. My guess is that fewer connections might mean fewer failure points...just guessing. More snaps would definitely be more work. The rods themselves are quite flexible and strong. the snaps are strong and require two hands and a thumbnail. Be sure to order enough length for your vent. an extra rod or two is not a problem (compared to not enough rods). :-)
