Solidly built and well thought out design. The slides operate smoothly and they thought to put inserts in the side supports so the grooves would not collect debris in case you miss the can. The bottom tray is slightly concave so any spilled liquids stay on the tray and do not dribble off into the slide mechanism. The soft close is a nice touch that actually ensures the door closes tight and stays that way.Installation is basically just screwing the slide mechanism down to the bottom of the cabinet and then attaching the door. There are plenty of options to accommodate different width doors. My cabinet had double doors so it was easy to push the slide in, close the door while it was still on its hinges and drill pilot holes for the mounting screws. Just had to remove the hinges and then put screws into the previously drilled pilot holes for near perfect alignment (some fine tuning was necessary). We used a slightly shorter, wider can than came with the unit so it would clear the plumbing under the sink (see pictures). Again, the different can was easy to accommodate because the bracket that goes behind the can is easy to adjust by loosening a couple of set screws and sliding it on the side rails.The slide was installed under sink in the kitchen so the one problem I had to deal with is making sure it cleared the plumbing and sink. This wasn't hard for the average DIY guy; it just required cutting away part of the back panel as shown in the pictures.

My husband and I have a rather large sheepadoodle dog that likes to get into the garbage and browse. By browse I mean spreading it all over the house and eating the most delectable parts. We bought some child proof safety latches to keep her out of the garbage, but they didn't work that well and failed after a short while. My husband had the brilliant idea of replacing our previous pull out trash can with this soft close one. EUREKA! Brilliant idea on his part. The soft close works very well and the best part is that she can't nose it open as the soft close rails hold the door shut very well. We actually have to use the knob to open the door as it is very difficult to open it from the side as we used to do. Problem solved!!

The media could not be loaded.  I got this for a cabinet that is right next to my refrigerator. I'll be honest, I was a little nervous because I was half-sleep and not reading instructions, but it came together well. 13G trashbags fit perfectly and it adds a nice touch to the kitchen.I know that I will be adding a new hole for the pull and filling/covering the previous one. Having it pull from the top left corner vs the center does require some additional effort.Overall, great experience.

I used this on a stock cabinet. I needed a 21" wide cabinet to fit it. I removed the drawer that came with the cabinet and added the drawer front to the lower door. Worked out great.We have had the same hardware in the custom cabinets of our home for two years and had no problems with it.

As mentioned in another review, the trash cans that come with this don't fit it. They taper too widely at the top and push against each other. I used smaller Rubbermaid (35) trash cans with no problem, but I'm still on the look out for some 50 quart that will fit side by side. (I would love for Knape & Vogt to offer 50 quart trash cans that fit their pull-out.)Installation was fine - I had to unscrew and reposition once, but that's more my fault and wasn't much of a pain. Definitely a measure twice (or three or four times) situation - you don't want to get the track installed at an angle, or have it not line up with the front of the cabinet perfectly.

i love this , no trash to be seen. it also holds a roll of bags. when you pull your trash bag you have your roll of bags right at hand behind the trash can. don't know why i didn't do this years ago.

Quality closing mechanism

6 months later and still loving these pull outs.Installed two side by side in double cabinets.Extremely complete install instructions includes a template for mounting the hardware and doors.Hardware motion is smooth and silent with gentle close at end.
