it contains sodium triphosphate. If you go to their website, then go to "rescources"> "Product disclosures" then scroll until you find this product, there are two documents linked, on has a list of ingredients, the other is a safety data sheet.

Q: How many loads of laundry can you do with this 40 # bucket?

The 18 lb bucket of this product is marked as containing 290 loads. When you do the math, that means you are supposed to use 1 ounce per average load. With a 40 pound bucket, that is 640 average loads. Quite a bargain then in my opinion. A 40 pound bucket would last my household over a year.

Q: Is there a recommendation of how much to use per load? I'd like to know about how many loads I can do with this bucket!

It is a pound of detergent for 100 pounds of clothing. I use 2 tbsp for a medium load in a HE machine. This detergent will last a long time. Don't think it doesn't clean effectively just because it does not sud (by design - the newer HE machines do not handle high sudsing detergents well).

The label says 8oz. per 100 pounds of laundry which isn't very practical. We use about 1/4 cup per load. It will last you a long time. We use it for our massage business and its linens. We also use it for our cloth diapers and regular laundering. It's got a nice, light lemony scent. It's been a great deal for us so far. I recommend it. We won't have to buy soap for a while. I put a date on the bucket, 8-27-2013 to see how long it would last us. We've made a small dent in it so far.
