12V L&G Tractor Battery

Good battery so far, but shipped filled with electrolyte. Since the battery is vented, it was wet with sulfuric acid when I unpacked it. Despite washing the battery with water, clothes I was wearing were ruined and had acid holes within a week.Most batteries I've bought online (several) are shipped dry with a sealed bottle of electrolyte for end user filling; a much better (and safer) system.

Acid had leaked from battery. Got full refund.

OK, My stupidity for ordering a non-sealed battery. However I assumed (ASS-U-ME) that they would ship it Dry. NOOOOO. My sister opened the package and got battery acid all over her hands.Buy a sealed battery when having it shipped or have a dry battery sent and add Distilled water.

Don't buy an Exide lawn and garden battery for your lawn mower. They cost about $33.00 at Menards. Menards has only a 6 month warranty from the time of purchase. Then they tell you to call Exide. However, Exide has the same 6 month warranty. They said they were sorry. I expect a battery to last more than one mowing season. [We have had different brands sold thru Family Farm or TSC that last 4 or 5 years.]

Just an alert. I purchased a top-of-the-line Exide battery two years ago. The first one failed,and was replaced by NTB. That in turn failed, and since NTB had dropped Exide, Exide "customer service" told me to select a similar battery and submit the receipt and manufacturing number for reimbusement.Only now, Exide refuses to refund my purchase price -- far less than the original Exide battery -- even though the Exide battery had a 36-month free replacement guarantee.Steer clear.
