I bought this fuel-water separator to help clean out a gas tank on my boat, and it delivered exactly what I needed. I was running a 12V transfer pump rated at 120 gallons per hour, so I needed a filter that could handle higher flow than standard marine filters—and this one did just that. Most options I found had much smaller fittings and would’ve choked the system. This unit has 1” NPT top ports, which I reduced down to 5/8” ID hose to maintain flow without restriction. It filtered the fuel continuously for hours without a problem. The clear bowl on the bottom is a huge bonus. I could visibly see the water it trapped, and when it was time to drain it, the bottom valve let me release it in a slow, controlled drip—no mess, no rush. I was able to empty the water without wasting fuel. Tightened it back up, and the system kept running. Between the water separation and the debris it caught, this thing made a noticeable difference in fuel clarity. It kept up with the high GPH without backing up and didn’t miss any debris or water. Definitely impressed. Also worth noting: after I used it, a buddy of mine with a boat asked if he could borrow it after hearing how well it worked. Says a lot. For the price, I honestly didn’t expect this level of performance. If you’re running a high-flow fuel cleaning system or recirculating setup like I was, this is the filter to get.

This is an inexpensive part so that should be considered. I bought 2 of these and use one for diesel and the other for gasoline. The diesel one is fine and I am happy with it. The one I use for gasoline, not so much. Even though this is rated for gasoline, it breaks down over time. Mine is almost two years old and it worked fine until today. I noticed a drip of gas on the drain valve. I tried to tighten it with my fingers and the whole valve blew off, soaking my and everything around with gas. The gas (or ethanol) had softened the plastic allowing the drain to blow out. The sides of the bowl could be dented with my fingers because it was so soft. I 100% do not recommend this if you are putting gas thru it.

This filter kept so much trash out of my gas. Easy to drain water and trash out of filter. Loved the clear bowl.

The pump works great. The one thing that is annoying the pump info is in gallons but the meter is in liters. Not a huge deal but when you need an approximant idea how much you have put into a tank it would be nice for it in gallons. So far have only pumped about 1000 gallons it works as it should. Edit 1.5 years- All of the rubber o-rings have disintegrated leaked non stop. Replaced them not a big deal but after 1.5 years it annoyed me. Pump is stored in a lean to the sun doesn’t beat down on it at all. It pumps about 500 gallons a month in the winter. About 75 gallons during the summer just enough to keep the fuel oil from sitting all summer.
