From the Manufacturer When I was a kid I used to talk to my stuffed animals. They almost never talked back but that didnt stop me from having some pretty memorable conversations. As a grown up kid, I was a bit disappointed when I realized that talking stuffed animals still arent a thing. Why dont kids toys make better use of today's amazing technology? What's worse is the toys that do tend to turn kids into the worlds cutest zombies making kids stare at a screen and mindlessly tap buttons. Kids need mental AND physical stimulation. A truly good toy should harness technology and encourage kids to explore, use their imagination and be curious. You know, normal kid stuff.

Best Interactive Toy
I bought the Ubooly specifically to help my kids sit still and keep quiet when we have to go to places like Doctors or Dentists and only 1 child is actually being seen (if you've ever taken 4 kids to t he dr at the same time, you'll understand). I was beyond impressed. Although it didn't help a ton because my kids thought it was so cool they kept interrupting the dentist to show him the Ubooly, it at least kept tantrums at bay during the visit. At home it has been a life saver at times. I work from home, and the Ubooly really keeps my kids entertained and moving around while I get my work done. They know it's reserved for special occasions and they can't play it just whenever (it does have my phone it), so Ubooly has become a special treat for them.A few things we love about the Ubooly - My 6 year old actually gets up and moves with it. She has a ton of energy, so this helps her get a bit more out without getting into trouble. My 7 year old likes to have quiet time and she loves the music Ubooly will play for her while she's taking time to just be quiet. My 3 year old (almost 4), loves to just talk to Ubooly and have conversations with it.I love that with one app I was able to create a profile for all of my kids, and switching between the profiles is extremely simple and fast. We love our Ubooly. I'm really glad I decided to splurge on this toy for them.

Fun "toy" for my 4 year old!
I originally bought this for my four year old son for Christmas 2013. Loaded the app on my recently retired iPhone 4, put the phone into the Ubooly and gave it to him. And the app kept crashing or getting stuck, etc. That was then, this is now: The updated app works great now with my older iPhone. He's listening to story's, working on his letters, numbers, and words, as well as using his imagination. We haven't purchased many in-app add ons, but may in the future.App: Working great on the iPhone4, guessing it should work great on the new generations as well.Toy: Honestly, it's just a cute little phone holder that should keep your iPhone from breaking into a million pieces, but works to bring the app "alive" and into the physical realm, if that makes sense.Only downside... I had received an email from them saying that I received some credits to try out their store. I never found them and an email to their support went unanswered. So... not sure how great the support will be if you REALLY need them.Overall, still a solid 4 stars for a fun and imaginative toy.

Harmful to your children's eyesight and refunded 60% of the original price
This is a bad product. Normally moms do not want to expose cell phones and gadget to kids because of eyesight and electromagnetic waves, but Ubooly apps is too bright and cannot control the degree of brightness. Children keep watching the eyes of Ubooly. Also when it was returned to seller, seller refunded 60% of original price: the reason was a restocking fee. I am a big fan of amazon but it was the first time to be refunded 60% of the original price. Never buy this item!

Ubooly is wonderful Fun.
Ok Ubooly is for kids but its fun for adults to listen in on.There is so much that Ubooly teaches math ,science,Spanish, personal hygiene...and so many imaginary adventures all done with wit and charm..If a child had a real friend like this childhood would be wonderful for all.

Hard time hearing but a great idea to save your phone from shattering
Anyone else have a hard time hearing it when the phone is in the Ubooly??? Maybe it needs a spot cut out for the speakers. My kid just plays on the app because every time he puts the phone in the animal he has a hard time hearing it even with the sound all the way up.

Overpriced, boring!
I can say 2 things: its overpriced and children hardly used it a couple of times before getting bored. Now its gathering dust.

Cute Cute Cute and the Kiddos Liked It
No doubt about it; Ubooly is a cute little critter. We've had more than our share of toys that look great in the ads, and then are a complete disaster at home, so I'm always a bit skeptical. That, said, our kids really took to little Ubooly. We got the smaller orange Ubooly, which I thought was a nice size and easy to carry around.I thought Ubooly was for smaller kids, and my five year daughter old loved it, but so did my eight year old boy, which surprised me a bit. He really loved Ubooly's sense of humor. The only problem we had was when we first started Ubooly, it had trouble connecting to the Ubooly servers and updating. The free app we downloaded worked just fine, but we couldn't login and get any additional features like the spelling and math learning add ons. We tried again in a couple of hours, and voila, it was working, so it might have been user error, or just a short-term problem that solved itself. We handed the Ubooly to our kids, turned it on, and then hardly saw anything of the two of them for a couple hours, so the little thing definitely managed to amuse them. I really liked that the Ubooly kept them busy doing activities like drawing and exercising, rather than just playing with the iPad screen. The only activity I wasn't really keen on was the one where they "make" a polluted ocean - it involved water and oil, which really isn't the best mix with little kids and an iPhone. All that said, both Ubooly and the iPhone survived. The kids really had fun with the free Ubooly app. The Ubooly has a cute voice (she sounds like a sweet little girl) and tells a lot of silly jokes. You can buy add ons like learning math, ABCs or even learning Spanish on top of the free app.We have a Furby too, and I can't begin to tell you how much more everyone liked Ubooly than Furby (the Furby is just annoying, loud, and has really no redeeming learning features). All in all, I'd call Ubooly a win. It's cute, the kids liked it, and I liked that it kept them active and engaged.

Its a great toy but my kids just dont use it
Dont really know how to rate this! Its a great toy but my kids just dont use it. It does not keep them excited or engaged at all. I thought it would be a great alternative as a way of using tech but no, appatently my non-tech mind doesnt think properly.

good use for old phone
toy itself is very soft and well made - protects the phone fine - used my old motorola atrix and it worked fine - only issues really are;1 - using my old cell phone- so doesnt work great - hold a charge etc - so makes child pretty upset when malfunctioning2 - app is decent - but speaker on phone is smushed into toy and therefore sound is muffled and not loud enough to hear over background noise - then same thing for when you give the commands - mic is blocked and it doesn't usually hear it properly - unless talking loud and clear in a quiet room.neat adventures - jokes and my son loves it - but again using my old buggy phone and the way it doesnt get the sound in or out - makes for a brief moment of play then frustration -
