Excellent smaller Miele vacuum
The Miele 12030390 Compact C2 Cat and Dog bagged cylinder with the turbo brush is exactly what was needed for a smaller flat with slightly scruffy old carpets needing deep cleaning for long haired residents. As with all these machines it is important to use the correct Miele HyClean 3D Efficiency FJM bags, correct motor filters and exhaust filters. I have found third party bags and filters are simply too thin and let through lots of fine dust which can clog and eventually cook any motor.Being smaller, lighter and less powerful than the usual older heavy-duty Miele machines it is not quite so robust, but for our application without stairs it is ideal. The turbo needs frequent checking to make sure long human hair has not clogged it, but that is normal for every turbo I’ve ever tried. It is a bit wide for stair treads, but that is not needed here.11 metres “Operating Radius” is the total length of the lead plus the vacuum body plus the hose plus the tube fully extended, this is about the same as a bigger, heavier and ancient S512 and perfectly adequate for the flat. This machine with a big bag is infinitely better than all the bagless vacs I’ve tried over previous years; twenty fuss-free seconds to change the bag, compared with half an hour ten times as often to clean clogged filters etc on a bagless with next to no capacity. Also, crucially, simply pushing a hose and tube around is much less effort than carrying a cumbersome motor, battery and filters on the end of a stick-vac.

Best vacuum cleaner I’ve owned!
My X partner used a Miele hoover in her workplace and we borrowed it to see how good they are in the home. Superb is the answer. This is the compact version of the more expensive models with a few drawbacks. The biggest being that the tools are not stored on the body of the machine but on a strange carrousel that clips to the hose. Doesn’t look great but it really works well. The lead isn’t as long as the more expensive models and the aluminium tube isn’t adjustable in height although aftermarket items are available on Amazon for under twenty pounds delivered so that’s no problem. It isn’t as quiet as the more expensive models but not as noisy as most others. So those are the main things you forfeit for paying less money.Performance is absolutely superb. I can’t fault this item at all. It’s easy to manoeuvre due to the excellent wheels, the powerful suction and choice of settings is more than adequate, it’s light weight and very efficient. Even when the bag gets fuller it still sucks better than anything I’ve owned. The chord extraction is faultless and it looks nice in the blue I own.Miele is the best vacuumed cleaner I’ve owned and I’ve owned a lot more expensive makes. I love it.

So pleased with original I bought this to replace it
Not a great difference but improvements made are good. Replaced the old one because I left the bag out when I moved house 4 years ago. Cleaned it all up and it worked okay but got a new carpet and treated myself to a new vac.The attachments are the only thing we have issue with as the old ones have proper fibre bristles so we use them in preference to the new ones.Pleased to find good offers by Amazon and Miele for bags and Hepa filters which we have taken advantage of.The original is now used for cleaning the inside of the car!

So much suction it almost lifted the carpet off the floor
Like: Suction power - had to dial the power down so i could move it across the carpet, excellent on flooring, power control, long cord, light weight.Dislike: Build quality - 2 pole connector switch was disconnected from pole on receipt - superglued it back on to save sending it back. It would have been 1 star for that, but for the extraordinarily good suction power.

Small but powerful
Having previously owned a miele cat and dog for 15yrs with no problem until burning smell from motor. Old one was higher wattage as permitted prior to EC interference so was dubious on power on this new one. Shouldn't have been this is very powerful and will nearly lift carpets. Only downside is tool storage but it is quite a bit smaller than old one with same bag capacity. Hope this lasts as long as old one which was used practically every day. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Hmm. Maybe expectations are too high.
Like many of people I've had loads of different hoovers ranging from cheap to somewhat expensive, i very much trusted Henry as the best affordable but that's changed over the years.Anyway I've always had an eye on the Miele but £300+ was asking much at a time when i had bought a similar priced Shark (do not buy shark or Dyson)Finally i was able to take a punt and buy this C3 pet and boy was i blown away. The power of this machine is more than I've seen in any hoover over the years. The ability to turn it down with the + & - on the top with a depiction indicating the current level is brilliant addition. The turbo spin brush works amazing on carpet, although it does get caught up on hair so much i spend more time cleaning that than i do the floor (it's brilliant for hair in the car too)Filters and bags are quite expensive but that's how these things go, just don't expect to get branded ones for cheap.Up until recently i would and have recommended this to anyone and everyone. There's a but..Even with changing filters to Miele Brand new ones and inspecting everything on this hoover it seems like it just dropped in overall power by like 15%. I first noticed 2 or so weeks ago so i kept it in mind and i then noticed it wasn't picking up in the same way and/or missing bits especially on the carpet.I don't know if this is a fault with the motor or maybe the +/- power level buttons but it's such a shame after only 2 months it's nowhere near the level it was at when just out of the box. Obviously that's ridiculous at this price point. Now, don't take my negative as a reason not to buy one. Do yourself a favour and if you have been looking at the Miele brand hoovers just buy one and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
