Saved my so much time and money 10 out of 10 took rounded bolt out in one try

Tried removing cylinder head bolt(s) that were rounded off. Tried heat, impact guns, vice grips etc. Grabbed the 8.5 size hammered it on and took the full bolts out first turn. I was shocked at how well this worked. A++ for all of the odd sizes available in this kit. Not sure on durability yet but it appears to be well made.

I had been replacing two wheel hubs on a 1999 Suburban (three bolts per hub) and I found out that the bolts heads had been rounded by the last shop that I paid to replace the hubs while on a trip to Florida a few years ago. I was able to remove all but one of the bolts on the first hub and I decided to order these extractors to get the last bolt out. I had soaked the bolt with penetrant for a few days, I used heat and everything I could think of. When these extractors came in, I tapped it on the rounded head of the bolt with a hammer and then with a two foot breaker bar, I was able to break the bolt free. The extractor socket that I used showed no deforming in shape or any damage that I could see. I ended up needed these extractors on the other wheel hub too. These extractor sockets are round (like regular sockets) and that is what I needed to reach the bolt heads, because you have to go through a hole in the flange of the wheel hub to reach the bolts. Some extractors will fit on a ratchet and they also have a hex head if you want to use a wrench on the extractor, I would not have been able to use that type, because those sockets are too big to fit through the access hole in the flange of the wheel hub. These extractors were exactly what I needed, and they worked perfectly.

Worked as it should pulled a rounded 8mm bolt out of a twenty year old waterpump assembly

Pros: It is the cheapest set that has smaller sizes as well. Comes with impact wrench adapters. Made of Cr-Mo steel. Price is 5 stars.Cons: Quality is mediocre. Several are off center. machining burrs left on, manually need to remove. One was poorly machined with jagged edges. Another was incorrectly machined so the wrench only goes halfway in because it was machined not deep enough. 3 star.Bottom line: If you are willing do perform the QC and inspect each part, and are an occasional user like me, and dont need long term durability, then it is 4 stars. Otherwise pay more (double?) and get a better set
