Sleep Innovations Cooling Comfort Gel Memory Foam Dual Layer Mattress Topper, 4 Inch, Twin Size, Pillow Top Cover

This will be a long review but worth the read. So, I've had 3 cervical spine surgeries (4 level acdf) 2 of them following an auto accident. I've also had a shoulder & hip replacement. I have an extremely expensive memory foam IComfort bed and have gone through dozens of pillows which I thought would be the answer to all my sleeping issues.My daughter has a pretty incredible bed and the past few times I've stayed with her, I've had the best night sleep (the only good sleep) and she finally told me it was because she had purchased a mattress topper. She sent me photos (she had a 3 inch standard gel/foam topper). I set out on a mission. I had no idea how many options there were to choose from. So many claims / conflicting reviews -- I researched dozens and dozens and read dozens and dozens of reviews on each one -- Then, I came to this specific topper!! I narrowed it down to 3 different toppers and ultimately -- I purchased the Innovations Dual Layer Gel TopperI chose The Innovations topper because 1) it had more positive reviews than any other on the market 2) It came with a cover that would encompass the memory foam portion of the topper (and it's so deep that it even covers my deep queen sized IComfort Memory mattress) 3) it was a combination of the 2 types of toppers available 4) I was afraid the 2 inches would be two thin and the 4 would be too thick and felt this combination would be the perfect compromise (and it was). 5) It was extremely affordable in comparison to all of the others available. I removed the 2 piece(s) from the box and unrolled it right onto the bed.. It had no odor whatsoever and it laid out perfectly flat. I placed the 2nd topper right on top and pulled it down around the memory foam topper (which was slightly larger however it just formed around my own mattress) and then extended it down past my bed's mattress and made my bed.My first night and all subsequent night's sleep have been pretty incredible. It is slightly/noticeably higher and you do kind of fluff into the bed but not nearly as much as some of the reviews indicated. One review had me laughing so hard , it made me cry -- that I'd be literally fighting and at war with my mattress every night-- not true!!!I can say that I had the absolute worst bursitis pain imaginable following my hip replacement surgery. I really did not know that is what it was until about a year after my surgery, I went to my surgeon telling him how much pain I was in down the one side. After examining my hip and showing me xrays he indicated how perfect it looked and then did a few "touch tests which were immensely painful. I received the first of many shots right into the bursa and typically count the days till I can have the next one (about every 45 days -- until I got this topper (the last shot I received was in September) -- Before this topper, I could not sleep on that side -- EVER!! I had to lift my leg with my hands to help me turn over in bed, had to lift my leg with my hands to cross them like a lady!! Now, it's barely noticeable and I even told my husband the other day that not only has it helped my sleeping (back, neck, hip) but my pain level during the day is almost a "non issue" like it was prior to the topper --- It's pretty darn amazing!My husband has terrible hip issues and arthritis and he's the biggest Negative-Nellie there is about anything I try. He had always hated our bed but he's really loved the first days of having the topper. He has said he does feel much better since having the topper (but he needs hip surgery so his issues are different than mine).I for sure can say that the Innovations Topper solved the exact issues I needed it to solve without it being so significantly different than what I'd already had previously based on the reviews .. I hope that if I ever need another one, this exact one will still be available because I will never order any other kind. I plan to get one for every bed in my home as soon as I start to remodel and will buy them as gifts when I can. I've told everyone I can think of "my story" -- including all my Doctors, Nurses, PT's etc -- -- If there is a way for me to sell them for you, let me know! I'll be your No 1 sales person for sure!!

I have been sleeping on this for almost 2 weeks now. Its definitely nice, and fairly high quality. I didn't have any issues with staining or stiches coming apart like some other reviewers said.I got it because I bought a brand new mattress in November and it is too firm for me. I am a side sleeper and I was waking up constantly and in pain. This definitely gives me some cushion and comfort. I don't think it ever expanded to a full 4". I took my mattress protector off and put the foam directly on the mattress, then the topper on top of that and tucked it around the mattress, then put my protector over the whole thing, so maybe that's why it isn't expanded and "cloud-like" like others have said. I just didn't want to have to wash the fluffy topper, so I put my mattress protector over it so I can wash that instead.All in all I am happy with it. I'm sleeping a lot better and not waking up in horrible pain.

I love love this bed topper! It’s my first one using one and I fully regret never buying one before. I bought a memory foam mattress and it was much firmer than advertised and it made my back hurt a lot so I decided to buy this bed topper to make my bed comfier. Omg It literally feels like you’re sleeping on a cloud it’s so nice! It’s very thick as well. I bought the “plush support” and I’m happy I got this one instead of “enhanced support”. The reason being is because this one has AIR CHANNELS and it has made sleeping so much less hotter! Before I would wake up in sweats and now it’s just cozy and cold just how I like it! My husband loves it too and it has ELIMINATED his back pain and mine too! It fits perfectly for my king sized bed with no excess length. It even came with a free mattress protector and I highly recommend using it, as it helps the topper stay in place and it makes it so much more comfortable. The protector is also super thick and plush. The only thing I would say is to air out the new smell it has before laying on it, and also to let it rise fully! If you’re on the fence, please buy this, you will not regret it! (:

This was a good purchase for me thankfully. I bought it because my old faithful spring mattress, while still in good shape, was keeping me up tossing and turning trying to find 'the good spot' for comfort. I have tried so many other solutions but nothing worked for my husband and I both. He prefers firm and sleeps on his stomach and I like softer and am a side sleeper. I didn't even ask him the first few nights of using this because I knew I loved it so much my next step would have been sending him off to the couch. But thankfully we finally found our perfect balance in this topper. It's only been 2 weeks so the longevity of this is not part of my review but that's plenty of time for me to judge our combined comfort as most other options were a no by night one.I read all the reviews and was worried about the odd mishaps with part of the topper not showing up at all but my purchase was perfect with everything arriving as expected. I was pleasantly surprised that it looked even better than some of the earlier reviewer pictures. So. Many thumbs up on this product so far.

Yeah, it's technically a "2-part" topper, but the title really makes it look like you're getting a foam topper of the thickness you choose. I guess the foam plus cotton pad is supposed to be 4" but I was disappointed to order a 4" topper and get 2" of foam plus a kind of dinky little cover. A cotton and polyester protector is not memory foam, and it doesn't really make any difference in softness. If this had said "2-inch foam topper plus protector" it would be far more accurate, and I would have ordered 3" or 4" of actual foam somewhere else.

I was impressed with the quality for the price right away. I bought this to use on a brand new mattress that was just too firm for me, the sales guy said it would break in, but it hasn't and probably won't. I was waking up super sore almost every morning like I was sleeping on a cement floor. It was upsetting for just buying a new mattress to solve that problem! I was worried it was going to be too soft for me as I do need some support for a bad back. It's not! It's just the right amount of "fluff" to let me sleep comfortably, yet I don't feel like I'm sinking into a princess and the pea type situation. I have also noticed that it's not too hot. I have had issues with memory foam in the past, sweating so bad I'd wake up in a puddle, but perhaps the down topper, plus my other mattress cover/topper lets it breathe a bit? I would definitely recommend this and it was nice to get the sale price!

I have waited a few weeks to write this review. The gel part ends up being so soft that it feels like half an inch does something because it compresses. The pillow topper is the selling point, it is like a cloud. I have not washed it yet but I am concerned with other viewers about it pilling. Since I have had it, it does make my bed slightly more comfortable, but I am waking up with lower pain everyday (where as I didn't before). I could slightly feel the springs in my bed before, where as now I don't as much but waking up in pain. Not a good trade off. I had a memory foam topper before that was much better and thicker with more support for $100. I wanted to try something new and I wish I just kept my old one. This is VERY SOFT and not as thick as 4 inches, so if you need more support, I would skip this and buy something else.

Got a "medium" "six inch" Wayfair softness in a hurry (rented a furnished place that had a king bed frame with no mattress); this covering added the extra thickness and just the right amount of softness (without losing support); back pains in the morning disappeared in the second day.Not sure about durability - after five months, it dropped some threads on the side that stays in contact with the memory foam, but I only saw it when I decided to wash (you won't have to wash frequently if you top it with a regular fitted linen, which I strongly recommend; I think of it as part of the mattress); washed in cold, dried with 30 mins on cold, then 10+10 mins on medium, refolding between each of them, went out like it went in, but clean.Otherwise, 100%.

I have had back pain for as long as I can remember, I have 3 Herniated discs, I even had to get a breast reduction 3 years ago due the the pain they were causing to my back. So due to all that I have always had to get the most expensive mattresses to help ease my pain, the one that I bought a few years ago was starting to feel less than ideal so I was contemplating buying a new one but in a more suitable price range, I decided tto check what Amazon had to offer and found this mattress topper, I decided that buying this and try it could be a better solution than directly buying an expensive mattress. I bought it and put it on my mattress the moment it was delivered, I have been sleeping on it for 4 nights now and so far I feel really good in the choice that I made. It's really comfortable and easy to put together, I haven't been in much pain in the pass few days and I am really thankful for that. Hopefully it stays that way. If you are hesitant but are in pain, I would suggest you at least give it a try before you go for the more expensive brands.
