Updated Review: I waited too long and missed the return window. I pulled the item out of the package and there was a distinct odor of rope-like fiber which isn't quite musty, but it is unpleasant and shouldn't ever be in a cotton product. I washed and dried it using no-heat and woolite detergent and the odor is still there. I shouldn't have to smell this effing odor while I'm in bed. Complete garbage, basically. DO NOT BUY. SELLER: Offer me a full refund. I'm here. Contact me.(Black version): A touch too dark overall which drowns the stitching details out. The grey version has contrast stitching that makes this sing. Colors true to images but details not as raised or noticeable as images. Returned black, kept grey.

I'm always too warn when I use a comforter. In Iowa this winter, I was going to bed with the furnace turned down to 64 degrees with a sheet, cotton thermal blanket, red fuzzy blanket the wife bought, and an empty duvet cover. Just about right. Then I bought a new bed and decided to try filling the duvet with something that wasn't down filled. Have one of those, and it is like an oven. So, read the reviews about this Newlake product being light weight and no bad ratings, so decided to give it a try, Great product. Well made, and the other two blankets are gone. Just the perfect warmth for a 64 degree bedroom, and feels so light when you are under it. Will consider another for the guest bedroom! Only thing that would make it better would be some ties on the corners to lock it into the cover,

Nice and soft. I tumbled it to make even softer. Absolutely all cotton quilt. Some of the stitching makes it look too machine quilted but it’s still pretty. The king size is plenty long enough to look more like a spread than a comforter. It’s not thick like a comforter- it’s a quilt I use over my comforter in winter. Looks like the picture.

I love the bed spread, great quality for the price. Only downside is I ordered a king size and got 2 standard shams. Not a problem if I had 4 standard shams but now cannot find just 2 more shams. When making the bed, looks odd with only 2 standard shams.

Best quality you can find for the price-especially considering shams are included. Love it. Wash on gentle let air dry-comes out perfect

The "Black" is a dark espresso. Next to black furniture/leather bed frame it looks completely obvious its not a true black. The quality is excellent for the price but Id really loved to have this design in a true rich black. Bummer. Im not returning it because the design on it it exactly what Id hoped for.

Love this bed spread. It is exactly like pictured. It is not real heavy, it is a bead spread not a comforter. it is about as black as you can get in faberic. The only down side is it is a bit narrow. I have a fairley high queen sized mattress and it barley covers on the side. With a bed skirt it would be perfect.

I took a picture on a black rug so you could see how grey it is. Also, the stitching pattern is different than what’s pictured.

This isn't "charcoal" - it's not black at all, but clearly a medium grey. Unfortunately, I can't use this and am having to return the quilt, which means I'm out $100...

This quilt is perfect for my quest room. My son and his wife said it was warm enough, not too hot for their stay. As the old comforter was too hot.
