Can I use longer staples in this stapler? Can I use 3/8 inch instead of 1/4 inch?

I holds standard office sized staples as well as heavy duty staples. Some heavy duty staples come with it, but they were more than I needed for my project.... so I used regular standard office staples... my current box says Swingline Premium S.F. 4 Staples.

Why does this stapler keep jamming after every single use?

Possibly it could be the staples don't fit properly, depending how long it's been in use and how many pages you are stapling. I found for my simple project of about 12 pages, i liked the thinner staples that come from office supplies department. Your basic stapler staples. If your booklet isn't to thick.

Does this stapler open all the way up? I am a teacher and would like to be able to use it for stapling items to bulletin boards, walls, etc.

No it does not open up in a way that you can staple to a flat surface. I got it because I live in a mobile home park my wife works in the office and the park phone directory was all jacked up I had to go into word and make it reprintable and I frequently now update it. It is a 10 page (5 sheets) booklet with a half fold so I can now print these when we just need a few. Saving a ton 'o' money going to a printer. And it is perfect for that.

Stapler, Great interior package damaged

The stapler is fine, but the box it came in, looked like it had been opened. The entire end was torn off of it and the secure plastic was gone off of the stapler. It seems to work fine so I will keep it.
