Not easy to install, takes time and lots of patience, looks great
The video is very helpful, but my experience goes like this. The removal of the ring is difficult and takes lots of pressure around the dial to remove it. Then you need to unplug with cable with tweezers like it says. Remove the old black sticker from the circuit board. The video does NOT have you remove the inside adhesive cover from the new glas glass, but it MUST BE DONE to adhere to the circuit board then affix the glass to the prior removed circuit board aligning the arrows inside the ring. At this point, I lined up the circuit board with the plastic ring and put a mark on the side of the circuit board and the ring so I knew how it would align. Finally I used tweezers to push the cable back into the clip on the circuit board, DON'T FORGET TO CLOSE THE CLIP by pushing the edges of the clip NOT THE CABLE UP to keep the cable tight. then you align the lines from the plastic to the board (you previously made) the ring does in line with the media button like in the video, I had taken it off again then put it back on once i had the plastic ring installed and aligned properly.Took about several hours of trial and error, PLUS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY so u don't short the circuit board. I am very technical, but this challenged my patience.

Very good quality, comes with replacement ring, but I used the original.
It was complicated, but it didn't take long to install the controller. Removing it was easy, but you have to be careful because there is a flex cable underneath that you have to disconnect. Then the rest was a piece of cake, although it comes with a replacement knob, I decided to use the original because that way it was more beautiful to my liking. But you have the option. It is not necessary to disconnect the battery to replace the knob, but I do recommend it just in case.

I don't recommend it. Completely wasted money and a broken idrive in the end.

Awesome looks
Great looking and matches OEM, don't pay $900 at the dealership. Disconnect both batteries first

hard to install
unfortunately I tried to install it by myself but I damaged the cable .therefore all the control unit is to be replaced (more than 600 usd).bad experience
