Worth the price and the long deliberation
I've had this stroller for a couple of months now, and I love it. I truly think that moving from the full sized stroller that went with my infant travel system to the GLuxe has improved my quality of life! I wish I had done it sooner. My very tall, 30-lb 19-month old son is quite comfortable in it and looks like he will continue to be for some time. My only size concern is the waist straps-we don't have much room to enlarge them, so it may not be the best choice of stroller for a more rotund child. The operation of opening and closing the stroller only took a little practice to master, and now I find it very smooth and easy to operate. I love how light it is. The carry strap was an important feature for me. Recently, i was in a mall with my son and the elevator was broken. I was able to take him out of the stroller, fold it, put it on my shoulder with the strap, and carry it and him down the escalator with no trouble. The standing while folded feature is also great. Some people have complained that it's not terribly sturdy in this position. For my purposes, I think its fine. I'm able to fold it and stand it next to my table at a restaurant and have it be out of the way but in sight. (I don't want to leave a nearly $200 stroller hanging out in the lobby...) Folded, it takes up very little room in my little trunk, so i can actually store things other than the stroller in there for the first time in more than a year and a half. (old stroller took up the entire trunk) The sun shade is nice and generously sized, and the basket underneath is convenient for small shopping bags or folded coats. Don't plan on stowing large bags down there, but it's handy for small things. The stroller handles like a dream. It's extremely smooth to operate, and you can easily steer it one-handed. My 6'4 husband is comfortable pushing it. My son loves pushing it around, too. :) Before purchasing, I did weeks of research, read tons of reviews, and vacillated between this and the Maclaren Triumph. I probably would have been happy with the Maclaren, too, but now that i have the GLuxe I think I made a great decision.

Not happy with the customer service
Below was my original review for the stroller. As many of you may be aware, the 2010 version has been voluntarily recalled and I am very unhappy with the recall/replacement process. I was told it's a 2 weeks turnaround from the time you send them photos of your current stroller destroyed to when I should receive my replacement new stroller. It has been over 2 weeks and no one can tell me when I will be getting my replacement. Keep in mind I have a 30 pound 10 months old baby I have to carry everywhere now because I don't have a stroller. I don't see how anyone can tell me Uppababy has good customer service when they don't do what they say they will do. Very unhappy customer.*************************************************************I did a lot of research and returned two strollers (Maclaren Quest and Peg Perego Si) before finally found what I've been looking for - the 2011 version of G-Luxe in Teal color (I picked 2011 version because the weight limit is now 50 lbs).It is the lightest umbrella stroller you will be able to find that reclines. Quest is about 1 pound heavier, and I like how compact Quest is when closed, but it's canopy is a joke, and I am paranoid about sun exposure to my little 4 months old. I loved the big canopy of the Peg Perego Si, but it's heavy at 17 lbs. Believe me, the 6 lbs difference is huge.I almost never write baby product reviews as with a 4 months old I am busy, but thought I should share as it took me a long time and lots of research to settle on this stroller. It handles great, the cushion is so soft and nice and this color is so pretty (for a boy or girl). Only issue I see is the white fabric on the side will get dirty really fast. I guess you can clean it...I hope so! Oh and my boy loves sitting in this stroller. Now I have it fully reclined so he can nap in it.

Save your time and get a Maclaren
We have an Uppababy Vista and LOVE it. And have had good dealings with the company's customer service. So when it came time to buy an umbrella stroller, we thought the G-Luxe would be the right one. Mistake. I have a feeling most of the positive reviews of the G-Luxe are written by people who have only been using theirs for a short time. After a couple of months, the thing starts to fall apart, and all the pros start to become cons. In short: It doesn't recline enough, but it also doesn't have a high enough position. Even in the all-the-way-up position, my son always seems to be craning his neck forward to see. The stand no longer works. When I try to stand the stroller up, it just falls over. My son can pull the leg rest all the way off. He can also pull the sun canopy all the way down around himself (the velcro doesn't hold it in place). There is no peek-a-boo window, so I can't see him while we walk. The rain cover is way too tight, almost cutting off circulation on his ankles. There is no storage pouch on the back, just the mesh basket underneath, and no good option made by Uppababy for an organizer (we had to get the Maclaren universal organizer). The white parts of the stroller are getting filthy. The wheels get stuck on stairs. The end of the plastic on the sunshade is already popping through (this happened on our Vista, too). And, even though my son is nowhere near the weight limit yet, the upper corer of the seat has torn, allowing a rod to come through. I contacted Uppababy about this last part, and they are very nicely sending me a replacement stroller. But I'm sure that one won't hold up either, and it won't have a warranty, so I'll be out of luck. It's strange that a company can make such a great product (the Vista) and such a terrible one (the G-Luxe) at the same time. I'll be buying the Maclaren Quest, which I should have done in the first place.
