antenna not a booster, but it works w/Centurylink C2000T
being the only tech person in the family let alone amongst friends it is me who always gets to deal with wifi setups. so that being said i have used this style antenna in the past, which is why i went with this.to begin with this is NOT a signal booster, it is an antenna. inside it is just wires used to transmit a wifi signal from your modem, router or combo of the two. it will not increase your speed. it will however help with signal strength. if you experience buffering, pages hanging up, or spotty reception this can help. keep in mind this is for an incremental betterment in your wifi. i only use this for the first floor of our house where our modem/router is located. it does help reduce dead spots very much.first in regards to setup know that even a couple of inches in height can mean the difference between optimal performance and terrible. even turning a bit and then checking on say your phone (many free apps can measure wifi signal strength) with each move. eventually you will find the 'sweet spot.' also when checking look to see if others are on the same wifi channel as you are. if so change channels to one not used or less congested. your internet provider can walk you through that if uncertain.as for the antenna the product description states this comes with a "1.5m RG174 extension cable and 3m Extension Cable." it does NOT. it only has the one 3 meter cable. the advertised 9dbi gain is also not correct. i have no idea where they dig up such a number but it is not accurate. my results are more in line with a 5dbi gain maximum. but that said the flexibility in placement due to the cabling is what helps this take care of dead wifi spots not some over the top marketing dbi claim. the base if it has a magnet in it, doesn't work. not that i care i don't want a magnet anywhere near my devices. the antenna itself is just fine. i even put my oem router antenna on this cable/base and i got the same results as i did with the antenna they sent. the key part, the part that makes this worth it is the base and cable system. that as stated enables you to precisely move your antenna around, something you cannot do with an antenna screwed directly into a modem/router.fyi fits centurylink C2000T modem/router combo. i would order this again and recommend it but don't expect miracles. it will help weak signals go further, help with dead spots but it will not perform miracles with wifi. if you need something better i use Yagi WiFi Antenna 2.4GHz 17dBi Angle H:25° V:24 Outdoor Directional Wireless which gives me a good wifi signal all around our property. hope that helps some.

MORE LIKE SUPER WEAK !!!
OK I just needed a simple magnetic antenna ... the antenna works OK I guess but I bought it for the magnetic portion ...their advertising says "SUPER STRONG MAGNET" .. not just strong magnet - but SUPER strong !!! .. so I was expecting something that could at least hold the antenna to the side of a metal filing cabinet .. NOPE - This so called SUPER STRONG MAGNET is more like SUPER WEAK -- it couldn't even hold itself up very well -- anytime you close the file drawer the antenna falls off the side .. .. that's why I give it two stars ... Yep .. not just weak - but SUPER WEAK ...

The antenna did not work.
This was used on a wireless backup camera.I replaced the antenna with a TP link antenna and it worked much better. I tried the antenna without the base and it still did not work. There seems to be a quality control issue with the actual antennas.

the antenna works fine when picking up a good signal that is outside or getting some interference at the module. It works fine at the length of the cord, although i saw great signal drop when trying to extend the leght.

Works great! Shortly before buying this antenna I moved my desktop computer below my desk. I saw a significant reduction in speed through my TP-Link PCI-E card (6 dBi gain), which averaged around 6 Mbps down. I tried a 5-star WiFi repeater between my upstairs office and our router downstairs, but I actually got ~60% slower speeds. After installing this antenna above my desk I get an average of 13.2 Mbps down and 8 Mbps down--double the speed.

Waste of money
I ran the WiFi SweetSpots app before swapping out the OEM router antenna and then after. The signal quality was markedly lower with this product installed. I reinstalled the original antenna and signal quality was back where it had been. The difference was large, in fact, that it could be seen without the app - even the three bar signal indicator on my iPad showed weaker signal across the board with the "booster" installed. Definitely an item I plan to return. Sorry folks - keep looking.

Magnet is absolutely awful! Cannot support the antenna!
We needed this antenna for use with a cellular modem. I never had a chance to use the antenna as the magnet on the antenna base is absolutely awful! We wanted to mount this antenna on the side of a cabinet but the magnet is not strong enough to support the weight of the antenna. If you are using the antenna on a horizontal surface, it may work for you. If you intend to mount it on a vertical surface, this is not the antenna for you.

Did not perform as expected - neither boost nor extend
This Antenna did not perform better than the shorter antenna that came withIt not extend the range. The signal strength fell compared to the shorter antenna that came with the PC when placed at the same spot.Disappointed.
