Decently easy to use and install, records decent quality video day and night, but poor AI detection.
This OOSSX security camera system came with four wireless cameras and a base station containing a 4 TB hard drive. The cameras transmit audio/video wirelessly although you still need to find a place to plug in power for them since they are not battery powered. Range seems acceptable with the base station placed within my home about 40 feet away with several walls between. Be prepared to perhaps use some basic power tool skills to drill screws where you plan to install the cameras.Picture quality: I believe the cameras do output native resolution at 3K that you can view live, but I'm fairly certain what is actually recorded is much lower, perhaps 720p or even 480p (I haven't checked). Night vision also seems quite decent and allows for clear images even in complete darkness.User interface: The base station user interface is decent, albeit perhaps a bit clunky. There isn't great documentation for where exactly to find some settings so I found myself poking a fair amount into sub menus to find things, like how to invert the camera picture. The app (both on PC and Android) is also kind of clunky although I have no major complaints about it. The somewhat annoying thing about this system is that there are a decent number of settings that seem like they are only operable directly though the base station, which is kind of annoying since I don't have a permanent display attached to the base station.AI detection: So the most annoying part of this system that I'm docking a star for is the motion detection/AI features. This could be because I opted to not pay for cloud storage or analysis, but essentially the detection feature is waaaaaay to sensitive for me, even at the lowest sensitivity. Any leaves rustling, wind blowing things around, seems to trigger it. And it detects everything as a humanoid. It just makes it such that if you wanted it to alert you to something or you wanted to go back in the footage to find when someone appears, it would probably not be possible given the sheer number of identifications it throws up. Overall this isn't a dealbreaker bug for me given the decent price and ease of use, but it might be for you.

Very pleased with this security camera system.
This is my 3rd system (1st time with OOSSXX) in about 10 years. I've had this one now for about 6 months and am very happy with it. Reasonably priced and very simple to set up. I like the fact I only need to run a single cable (power) to the cameras. The wireless works great. I was initially concerned about having to set up all the cameras on my wifi router/AP (I use address reservations) but that wasnt an issue since the cameras only connect wirelessly to the NVR itself. The NVR is wired to my network, giving me access to live/recorded footage remotely. The interface is better than the previous ones I've used, though the menu system is a bit overly complex. Images (day and night) are clear. There is only a single USB port on the NVR for either a mouse or thumb drive for footage export. I resolved that with a simple USB hub.The audio (2-way) feature worked better than I anticipated. I had a previous system where the audio was barely audible. This one is much better. I can hear slight breezes / rustling of leaves if I turn on the audio and audio out is very strong. The alarm feature is nice as well.I also liked being able to use some of the cameras as repeaters to improve signal to my furthest cameras. The only complaints I can see is perhaps that the cameras are on the large size. I used junction boxes to help with mounting and routing of cables. Also the antennae on some of them seem to require some re-tightening, though its possible that may be due to a bird perching on them.

the right one
a great problem free OOSSXX system. great for closed circuit, my primary need. its wide angle let me overlap for better coverage across my front yard. the camera looking down the side of my house, picks up houses across the street, and to the end of the block. though cars looked tiny that far away, I can still make it out quite well.pairing the OOSSXX system with a 32" tv with 1080psi works really good for me. one good trick is to set the DVR settings to default and adjust your monitors settings.the OOSSXX camera mount can be tricky to adjust at first. a 3 axis turns to the postion you want, but a little patience of climbing the ladder as many times it takes checking the view and going back to re-adjust.to the OOSSXX cameras toughness... as I was installing one of them on my porch, it fell from my grasp and dropprd over 6ft, hitting the concrete face first. so, I took it in to check it. wow, surprising to me it was working perfectly. it hit the top notch sticking out, protecting lens and sensors. no trouble since.been using the OOSSXX system 2 weeks now. no issues, suits my needs wonderfully.the pic i posted looks real good in person.
