I was looking for a decent heater to warm a small room in the house. I checked a number of items from the £10 basic fan heaters up to heaters that cost nearly £100. Ultimately, I settled for something in the middle. A £10 heater, to be fair, will probably be as effective - at the end of the day all heaters are doing the same things. But, I chose to spend a little more on this one for a few reasons. Firstly, the oscillating feature is a welcome addition, although in a small room it's really not needed as it warms the whole room up swiftly anyway. It it good if you need directional heat or want to quickly warm a larger area. I also wanted the option to set and maintain a temperature, something the cheaper options cannot do. This works well in that regard. Finally, I wanted something compact that looks nice and again this scores full marks for that. The remote control is a nice bonus, but for me it's not a deal maker/breaker feature. Once I've set it up, I can just leave it and rarely need to attend to it due to the fact that it can maintain a specific temperature. You can also use this wihtout the specific temperature control option, and select one of three settings for fan speed if you prefer. The fan on it's highest setting is a little noisy in a quiet room but probably no more so than any other fan heater. Overall, for my use case, it's great and I would easily give this a recommendation.

This is a first impressions review. I will return to it with an update after I have used the heater a few times.I really like the look and feel of this little heater. It has a sleek smart appearance and is very easy to operate straight from the box. It certainly throws out some heat and the oscillating feature is very effective. I like all the features but my two favourites are the eco setting and the timer, great ways to conserve energy.On switching the unit on, and setting the temperature to 21 deg C it sent our smart meter to amber, which was pleasing as I would have expected something putting out that much heat so instantaneously to be drawing a lot more power.Its compact size is great for my purposes. The acid test is going to be tomorrow when I take it up to my loft room where I have a writing desk and my guitars. At this time of year it’s quite chilly up there (the insulation is obviously working!) and that’s what I have made this purchase for - to (try and) beat the cold when I’m using the room, in an energy efficient manner.Watch this space for the update . . . .
