“We’ve met before, haven’t we?” A mesmerizing meditation on the mysterious nature of identity, Lost Highway, David Lynch’s seventh feature film, is one of the filmmaker’s most potent cinematic dreamscapes. Starring Patricia Arquette and Bill Pullman, the film expands the horizons of the medium, taking its audience on a journey through the unknown and the unknowable. As this postmodern noir detours into the realm of science fiction, it becomes apparent that the only certainty is uncertainty.DIRECTOR-APPROVED 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURESNew 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director David Lynch, with new 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrackAlternate uncompressed stereo soundtrackOne 4K UHD disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR and one Blu-ray with the film and special featuresPretty as a Picture: The Art of David Lynch, a feature-length 1997 documentary by Toby Keeler featuring Lynch and his collaborators Angelo Badalamenti, Peter Deming, Barry Gifford, Mary Sweeney, and others, along with on-set footage from Lost HighwayReading by Lynch and critic Kristine McKenna of excerpts from their 2018 book, Room to DreamArchival interviews with Lynch and actors Patricia Arquette, Bill Pullman, and Robert LoggiaEnglish subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearingPLUS: Excerpts from an interview with Lynch from filmmaker and writer Chris Rodley’s book Lynch on Lynch

Greatness
Great movie by the master D Lynch. Criterion Editions make greatness even better, if possible.

Great movie/disc, grainy imagery
I'm only taking off a star because this is a very grainy looking movie. I haven't seen it for a while so maybe that was intended, but in 4K there is a lot of grain to be seen. I am not one for sterilizing a film and like to see SOME film grain, but this disc seems to have it in spades. Otherwise, I love the movie, the extras, etc.

Late 90s cult film classic
Great flick that you can have conversations about and worth multiple rewatches. If you only want/like fully explained stories or meanings in your movies then stay away from this and likely all David Lynch projects. Also Patricia is really hot in this.

David Lynch
I believe this is Lynch’s’ 7th film, but not certain, but the point being you can tell he’s on his game. With Criterion now in the 4k business you get all the great extras and dir tor approved restorations. If you like David Lynch, Patricia Arquette, and Bill Pullman this is in your wheel house. I’m familiar with the Blu Ray and most extras and now adding a 4k hdr inserted this is a great 50% off pickup! This half off cycle I added Shaft, Lost Highway, Risky Business all 4k added to a super storm Citizen Kane 4k & Double Indemnity 4k plus others. So far criterion is firing on all cylinders and adding Lost Highway 4k has just strengthened my collection. Grab it at 50% off! As physical media starts dwindling it’s nice to see Criterion leaning into 4k. Most Criterion blu rays beat 3rd party 4ks in sound and picture. Avoid 4k that are not hdr or full restorations and avoid double dips unless you get a full restoration.
