Can they be used for a baby gate?

The Spring Loaded Hinges universal fit for door and gates with size larger than 2"*1.37" (L*W).

Do these hinges come in 4inches?

Not that I know of. I used them for auto closure of small landing gear doors.

Do they slap the door?

Not sure i understand. They attach to the door so they are in constant contact with them. So they won't slap it. For my use it was a small door 8x12" of 3/4 mdf. 1 spring hinge and 1 normal was enough to auto open. Hope that helps.

Great for Little Free Pantry

Our Little Free Pantry door kept being left open, so I purchased these as a solution. So far, they do exactly what they're meant to do: self-close the door. Installation was pretty simple, but if you have any hand strength problems, it would be helpful to have one person hold the hinge in place and the other screw it in. They've been installed for about a week now. They seem durable, but I'm unsure about the potential for rust as they were installed on the outside of the door. Overall, good product and highly recommend.
