Arctic Zone 45 Can Thermal Tote with Eco Blend exterior

I love these bags, they keep drinks and stuff cold, however they do leak. I ordered two of them and both leak water when ice inside them melts.

It's a sturdy cooler that definitely holds a lot (we packed 2 6 packs, gatorades and waters, and food for 4). Unfortunately, after about 10 uses, it's leaking through the bottom. Also the corner near the zipper is starting to separate. For the price, and the fact that it will last an average summer, it's not bad. But if you need things iced down and will be carrying it a lot, don't buy it.

I bought this at the beginning of September 2011, which is almost 4 months ago. I live out in a semi-rural area and often make a day's worth of errands into town for shopping. This tote was purchased for those warm or hot days when I need to keep grocery purchases cold.The bit of Velcro that holds this tote flat for storage? I hate that. The grippy part of the Velcro is on the bottom of the bag, so I fill up the freezer tote and put it in our car trunk, which has a large (maybe 3ft by 3ft?), removable thick felt lining in the trunk to cover the spare tire. I reach my destination and go to pull this freezer tote out of the trunk, but the entire big felt lining is stuck to the tote's Velcro and comes out of the trunk too. And that Velcro is GRIPPY, I had to fuss with it for a few minutes to get it to release its hold on the felt trunk lining. I promptly located a razor box-cutter and carefully cut the stitches that held the Velcro onto the bottom of the bag and removed the Velcro there. If you too are going to be putting this tote on anything that isn't a smooth surface, you may want to consider removing the Velcro as well.I do find the zippered opening a little difficult to get some items into, like larger boxes - I buy a box of 24 containers of yogurt which fits in this tote, but it takes a moment to get it into the tote because the opening doesn't want to stay open wide. It seems like a small pet peeve, but the extra minute or two just to get the box of yogurts into this tote is a pain when I'm doing this at my car in the store parking lot and it's raining.Okay, those are my small quibbles. What I like is that I can drop a heavy box of 24 yogurt containers (which weighs about 8 or 9 lbs) into the tote and all the seams are holding well, and the inner lining hasn't torn at all. I load up this tote 'til it's full and quite heavy, and this tote was made for it. So I've spent less time telling you what I like about this tote, but what I like is a biggie. It's well & sturdily made. And it's easy to wipe out with a damp cloth if something drips or leaks in the tote.If there are any longevity issues with this tote, if anything tears or rips or comes loose, I'll be sure to update this review.

I already have 2 of these and just ordered a third. They are wonderful! We use them all the time when we are traveling several hrs away from home with food that we want to stay cold. Just add ice packs and you are all set. The bag is nice and roomy, the straps are great and strong, and we are able to weigh the bag down with lots of food and beverages without it breaking. We have never had a problem with leaks, even when I somehow put a container of milk in there with a loose cap. The milk spilled, but did not go through the bag. The tote is also very easy to clean, and it stands up without falling down - designed very well. You will not find a better bag than this, and the price is great! I have also bought them for my adult kids, and they love them too.

I think California Innovations makes a good product. My last cooler from them lasted 3 years with a great deal of use until the zipper broke, so I ordered what I thought was the same model--but what I received appears to be a new, smaller lookalike version. The claim is this cooler can hold 45 cans?!? That's almost two cases and I say no way. With ice, more like 18 comfortably. I believe this claim is misleading, so I returned mine--and will be looking for a larger version of the same thing.PS: The key to preserving the cooler for a long life is to NOT drop in bottle caps once you open a bottle. The caps move around and the serrated edges will eventually punch wholes in the liner. So either put the caps in your pocket or the trash.

The materials of those tote are first rate, it has a quality zipper, very large capacity (without being too unwieldy), and best of all it does a great job at keeping items cold (or hot). We're confident this tote will last us a very long time and is well worth the money. Recommended.Update 4/7/14: We've been using this tote for nearly two years now and it's held up exceptionally well. There's little to no wear, the zipper still works great, and it still keeps our food cold. We use it mostly for weekend grocery shopping, but have also used it for camping. It's also proven to be leakproof (as proven by a melted bag of ice). We're very happy with the purchase.

So I used this bag today to go to the lake. Packed it at 8am with 6 bottles of frozen water in it and various other items from the fridge. The bag sat out in the tent on the beach (about 71-82 degrees out) from 9am to 3:30pm and the bottles of water were still half frozen. I say it works very well. All of the other items in the bag were cool as well.I have also used it at the grocery store will fit 2 large OJ's, 1/2 gal of tea, 4 bottles of small creamer, 2 rolls of cookie dough, 4pk of chocolate milk, eggs and 2 packs of butter with room to spare. Kept everything cool on the way home.Will be buying another one of these to use.
