Too-Rye-Ay, as it should have sounded

1 CD has a fault
Unfortunately my Too Rye Ay CD3, the live show has 2 faults, track16 cuts out after 1 min. Other 2 CD's of box set fine along with CD player. I remember the return procedure as I once bought the Civil War Trilogy and 1 book had about 10 pages missing and I had to take the 3 books back to a certain shop who bagged and returned and a replacement sent promptly. Since I ordered I went abroad and friend fetched them to me. He has left and I won't be returning till spring. Have you any suggestions? Family may come before then, I am in N Cyprus, aka Mersin 10 Turkey and deliveries are nigh on impossible.

Too-Rye-Hooray
I owned the original but lost it during one of many moves in tge 80's. Its a great record that everyone of a certain age should own.

Poor sound, not a patch on 1996 remaster.
I understand any review is a personal opinion. I loved the 1996 remaster,so much that I would place that album in my top 10 of all time. However this offering is very poor. Sound wise the bass is overpowering on some tracks, and on other tracks the same problem happens with the treble. The one saving grace is disc 2, which has some very interesting b sides. My other complaint is having read through the booklet, no mention is made of Mick Billingham, who was part of the band during the recording of the album and co wrote "The Celtic soul brothers". He does get a mention at the end of the booklet in very small print.I knew Mick Billingham in his early years around Birmingham in a local band called Cryer. I don't think he would be all that bothered, but surely he deserves a little bit of credit. If you want the album get the 1996 version.

As it should have sounded.
As it should have sounded. Louder and brickwalled. Why do all these remasters need to be louder when they sounded great in the first place. Louder does not equal better. We have a volume control for that.

Garbage! Not based on the music but the quality of the vinyl pressing
Well I was really looking forward to this great album sounding superb but having just played my copy for the first time it sounds like a Type I cassette from the 1960s.There is an extraordinary amount of hiss caused by the quality of the vinyl used. Side one is pressed slightly off centre as well giving nasty wow and flutter towards the end of the side.I'm not sure if all this release were pressed in Poland or not, or whether I've just landed a faulty copy but i'm disappointed.UPDATE, second copy I received is obviously from the same batch and is just the same. Made out of recycled toilet seats. Mercury should be ashamed and Kevin Rowland can't be too happy. If this end's up getting repressed in Germany I'll try again. For now I'll buy an original 80s copy from Discogs

Poor Quality Polish Vinyl pressing of a great album
I was dubious about ordering this on vinyl but decided that maybe other poor reviews were down to faulty batches. Unfortunately this was not the case. There is definitely a 'slight hissing ' noise that is quite noticeable and i will have to return as you can't get away from it.Gutted really and something that should be looked in to ...at the pressing plant i suspect....something is wrong here !May have to go for the CD (second best)
