Since 2009 when manufacturing of Spode pieces moved from England to China the quality has been somewhat inconsistent but this pepper grinder is nicely made with no rough spots and the lithograph is buried sufficiently so it isn’t felt under the glaze. Also, the other decorated areas are evenly applied and the design is the same both front and back.The pepper mill measures 5 1/2 inches in height and at its widest point measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter. \It operates well although there is no adjustment for grind size and the mechanism has some plastic components making it hard to tell how well it will hold-up over time. Note that when cleaning it should be wiped with a damp cloth not submerged. The included box creates a nice presentation and is also sturdy for storage. Functional and attractive.

Very nice set and VERY reasonable price. Well packaged. Helps complete the holiday place settings !! This is a real bargain for these pieces as most stores do not carry the accessories and most of this stuff is insane expensive ! Ordered 2 sets as a gift and was very pleased with quality , price and shipping time .

It is lovely but much smaller than I expected.

I love this pattern. These were boxed nicely, and arrived very quickly. I was disappointed that they were made in China as I have an English set, but I've always wanted these, so I'll have to get over it.

I like this hostess set, except for the salt and pepper shakers being a little on the small side.
