Yes, You Need Wide, But Go For It
After years of boot buying I needed a new pair when my (cheap model) Wolverines finally gave out from rotten stitches. I work retail and run around concrete for 10+ hours a day. I also needed great traction and steel toes. After probably too much research I narrowed in on Cherokee as a more economical but well reviewed alternative to those super high dollar know brands like Red Wing, and I'm glad I did.Out of the box these boots were a great fit and so comfortable! The break in time was almost zero. I prefer six inch but took a chance on the eight because I liked the color better, and I found the tops to be easily molded and soft. The sole is firm, the heel is sturdy, and yes, the flags did come on the laces as described. Shipping was faster than expected, and it was prestine when it arrived at the door. I've had them a few months with hard daily wear, and while the leather is easily discolored (buy waterproofer and sealer, not the boot's fault), I've been thrilled as can be after the anxiety of buying boots unseen, online. One word of warning. As described on many reviews, unless you have *really* narrow feet, get the wide. I'm a woman in her thirties buying men's boots, and after reading all the reviews, I still went for wide. If I hadn't they would have pinched, so, play it safe. If I had any opinion to give to the company it would be to make the darker colors more accessible in all models, since I was in love with some of them but couldn't find the color/model match. I expect to buy Cherokee for many years to come. Great boots!

Chippewa rocks
I bought these through Amazon, although it doesn't say verified purchase, about 6 months ago. I love them! American made is a plus and I thought the flags on the laces would be dumb but I like them too! I'm an industrial electrician and always have at least two pairs of work boots and I cycle them every couple of days. I've tried every brand except thorogood so far, and Chippewa is now my favorite. The break in was rough but I wore them for two days and went back to another pair till my feet healed and now they are perfect. I like the laces, they're waxed, but they only lasted like 3 months, a tiny complaint as the boots are my favorite, definitely recommend.

Made in USA
Very well constructed boot made in USA. I normally do 9 D in work boots, like Thorogoods, and these are 9 D. These are somewhat narrow, and my right foot is a little cramped in length. But the construction and leather are top notch, so I'm hoping they'll loosen up as I break them in. The tongue is nice and thick and is gusseted up to 6 inches of boot height. High quality brown taslan laces. Thick and sturdy Vibram sole. I put a good coat of Obenauf's LP to loosen up and protect the leather. My first pair of Chippewa boots, but probably not the last.

Well-made, but narrow
Bought these to wear daily in a manufacturing environment. They are very well made, with quality materials, strong stitching, and all the pluses you'd expect from an American-made brand like Chippewa. The finish is a bit more taupe than brown on my pair, so I ended up oiling them to get a better color. Also, be aware that the toe box for the steel insert is definitely more narrow than other boot brands I've tried on. Generally, I wear a 'D' width boot, but I should have gone with a wider width for more clearance around the ball of my foot. I had to buy boot stretchers to tune the fit so that I could wear them for extended periods. After I did that, they are some of the most comfortable boots I've owned.

Great boots!
Bought these as a gift for my husband, and he couldn't be any happier with them. They fit as expected and are very comfortable, he wears them all day long without any problems. The only complaint he had at first was how stiff the tongue was, and that it was rubbing the top of his foot. But since he has broken them in a bit doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. Would totally recommend them!

Hard working boot that's worth the extra cash
A great work boot can be hard to find. It's hard to go wrong with an American made Chippewa. They far outlast the Chinese made chips and are well worth the extra cash if it's a boot your wearing every day for work. I bought these to replace my old pair of chips which lasted me over a year of hard daily use. I work aboard tugboats in Maine and really put these things through their paces. They are wicked comfortable out of the box. I wear them in 90 degree weather in the summer and down to -20 degrees in the winter, all you got to do is pair with the right sock/socks. If you don't use them for work they could last you a lifetime.

Very well made quality boot. Looks great. I ordered the medium width and after a few days the edge of the steel toe began biting into the aide of my feet. I dont have wide feet and have never worn wide shoes or boots. Amazon was as usual great and returned no problem. Replaced with wide size. Havent recieved yet but will update review one i try them out.

Disappointing.
My original review was one of praise, however, after nine months, the sole blew out completely.BUYER BEWARE. These soles will dislodge with heavy/wet usage.Furthermore these boots run embarrassingly narrow. Buy wide.Will/would not purchase again.
