Mainichi KOH Sandalwood Incense 170 Sticks

This is my first time trying Japanese incense and I quite like them. I’m a bit surprised they didn’t come damaged, as they seem pretty delicate without a wooden core. These give off a soft smokey woody scent when lit, which is quite pleasant. You get a lot for your money and a 25-30 minute burn time is pretty solid since the sticks seem somewhat short. It’s clear to me that these aren’t super high quality incense, but they’re great for what they are. I’d be interested in trying their other more premium scents as these are good if you just want something basic and affordable.

This incense has a lovely natural sandalwood scent, and you get a box with quite a lot of sticks inside it. The scent is delicate and not overpowering, and I would thoroughly recommend buying this. The box protected the sticks well and I have nothing but good things to say about this product.

We always get the same sandalwood incense which is expensive but hand made without strong oils from a small company in Taiwan. I didn't want to spend the money to get that again so went to look for new incense that had the same essence. I decided to try this after reading the reviews as I really like Sandalwood. This incense is amazing. The smell is perfect without the heavy oils. If you are used to cheap incense with the strong oils, you may find that the scent is a bit soft and light. But this is because it isn't made with heavy oils. The fragrance is light and sweet with a hint of flowers and a slight woodsy smell, exactly what sandalwood should be. I think the negative reviews could be because people are used to heavy oil incense. If you like really strong incense, this isn't for you. If you are looking for something a bit more delicate than this is perfect. The package is such an added bonus. The only thing criticism I would say is that it burns really fast. There are 300 sticks which is nice but each one only last for about 25 min. The ones we would get at a local store from Taiwan last 2 hours per stick but they are 3 times longer than these but the price is also 7 times higher. I would order again and I will try a difference fragrance.

After several decades, I recently decided to start burning incense again simply for the olfactory pleasure of it. I purchased several different fragrances of incense from Shoysiedo, including Moss Garden (probably my favourite thus far), Cedarwood, Amber, Jasmine, and this Sandalwood (in the yellow box). I like them all. Compared to Indian incense, the Shoysiedo joss sticks are more subtle. I think they burn more cleanly, and the fragrances are not interfered by a core stick. They subtly scent the room in which I burn them, but they do not scent much more than the one small room. This is a plus if you live with someone who may not enjoy incense as much as you do. I understand Shoysiedo also make a Frankincense incense and a Myrrh incense. I want to add both to my collection in the near future. These are very nice incenses for the price point, and I encourage everyone who has been thinking of trying one or more of these scents to jump in with both feet. If you have burnt and enjoyed Indian incense to any extent, I think you will love these joss sticks. I burn mine in a small koro filed with Shoysiedo white ash. I also plan to try sand as a medium as well. These joss sticks do not become so hot that they would damage a porcelain koro. I like that fact. Also, both ash and sand allow the joss stick to burn up completely. Your sticks will continue to burn even after they have burnt down past the surface of the ash or the sand. I like this very much, too, as I feel there is no waste. I have been enjoying these joss sticks so much that I now find myself burning several sticks a day. They are a nice, quiet, pleasure conducive to relaxation, peace, and meditation as well as olfactory pleasure. Next, I plan to try burning incense resins on a charcoal for what some people call the ultimate way to enjoy pure incense.

This scent remind me of my grandparents house who live in Japan. 🇯🇵 Authentic Japanese scent ! It made me relax and very calm down when I feel overwhelmed. Perfect for relaxing!!!!

I love this incense! I am more familiar with Indian incense, but even the good quality stuff can be too intense for me and my household. This incense has a lovely smell (sandalwood) but burns much slower and produces less smoke and irritants. I can enjoy the experience! Although the stick is shorter than Indian incense sticks, it is all incense (like the cones), so I feel like you may even be getting more per stick. If you are able to handle intense smells and smoke, and that is what you are hoping for, you will probably find this brand weak. I find it refreshing with a strong, but not overwhelming, scent. You get a lot of sticks (170), so this is a good price per stick if you like it!

Hardly any fragnance. Even very normal and doesn't have specific perfume. Expensive and experience is not good

Don't get me wrong, I love everything Japanese, its usualy better quality, or I thought. I've been trying to find a good or better incense for many years, unfortunately it doesn't smell like anything enjoyable its just smoke and where is the SANDLEWOOD ? I don't smell it at all. I wouldn't recommend this product.

First time purchase and instantly loved the scent when the box was opened! It is a great sandalwood scent and fills the area with that beautiful perfume . The burn time is as expected and you can’t tell it Is quality . Already ordered another box in a different scent as the quality is so good.
